Hello fellow Blackhaters,

I am starting my own venture as a web developer and I was wondering if I could get a few tips from you. First of all I am looking to add web marketing as one of my services too but I yet have to earn some expirience in the area, so your help will be really appreciated.

As far as what I have done, I checked my competition for my main keyword locally and most of the only had backlinks from sites the built in the past using different keywords for each. This does not seem like something google likes a lot nowadays, so I guess it will not be too hard to beat, but I am still wondering how. Which kind of tools would your recommend for checking the competition? And what do you think will be the best aproach to this local campaing?

Basics 101;
1. go google and type in your targeted [keyword]
2. check top10 if they have your keyword in title and/or description
3. use one of these sites to check their backlink profile (no tools needed)
Code:
https://www.majesticseo.com/
Code:
https://ahrefs.com/
Code:

4. study on-page optimization and domain information (DA/PA/PR/etc.) to judge your competition

And what do you think will be the best aproach to this local campaing?

What works globally also works locally.

I really appreciate your answer Jonny! :)

I was also wondering if a Facebook campaing would be a good aproach on getting customers for my service. I have never done one and I was wondering how I could get solid leads with them

1. Free option is to gather a large niche relevant follower-base and advertise to them directly. There are many ways to go about gathering them but it is not easy. You can search around for guides on how to do it.

2. Pay for leads. If you think your product is good enough you can buy ads on facebook
Code:
www.facebook.com/Ads‎
This will cost you but the good thing is you can specify on which nationalities and what kind of people your adds will be shown to. This will generate income IF your product is sellable and desireable. Many people on this forum are making a killer profit with this.
