Hi SEO Gurus,

I want some advice regarding White-hat SEO, because currently we are working on an E-Commerce website. From last 3-4 months its ranking only HomePage with most of the search terms. What we can do to rank the most relevant page of the website according to different search quires.

Please advice!.

Thank You!

Anyone who can advice me to resolve this issue?

interlink your website. create a inner piramide and link the pages which converts best. also do social signals and backlinks to those pages. works for me.

build links to inner pages.

We have already done interlinking with Breadcrumb and with showing similar products on category pages and product details pages.

Did you build links to inner pages ?

as far as i know , one page can't rank for "many" keywords.

Previously almost all backlinks were pointing to the homepage only. That is why its ranking for many keywords even in the first of page Google.

But will now start building links for the inner pages as well.

You are probably only making links to the homepage.Consider building links to inner pages if you want them to rank well.

Well your wrong, This is how it can get ranked.

Have a Homepage with your multiple different keywords in the description and title if possible.
Blast links to your home page and ofc inner pages and your site will rank for the keywords with home page.

How am i saying all this? I had a site in the past which had this kind of weird ranking.

I've had this issue and have solved it.

Building links to the inner page isn't going to solve it right away.

Sometimes it's hard to add internal links in E-Commerce sites without it looking weird, but just make sure that every one of your top pages, has two links in each "location" pointing to the main page you want to rank.

This means you add a link in the nav bar, in the sales copy, and in the sidebar (if you have one).

Obviously vary the anchor texts using lsi, I find using one plural, one EM, and one EM plus buyers term, helps.

The problem is also on-page, as G seems to rank pages that link out to loads of other pages on the topic, ie the homepage.

So by making your ranking page link to loads of other pages on the topic (I rank to related blog posts), you make it more relevant.

Something to gets started on.

Your advice is quite interesting, but we are already using a breadcrumb and similar products modules on all the pages of our website. So internal linking should be OK.

For OnPage SEO we have done that quite effectively buy using targeted keywords in meta title and description.

But building back-links for inner page is the thing that we can work on right now.

Thanks a lot for such a brief guide :)

What I mean is, interlinking to your thin product/cat' page through breadcrumbs, is not the same as using an in-content link to and in depth article on an FAQ of the KW.

For example if you cat' is Blue Widgets, then a content link to a 600+ word article on "Benefits of Blue Widgets over other widgets" shows depth, rather than linking to your "Widgets" category.

This was somewhat true in 2013.

OP, make sure your building backlinks to your inner pages too. Take note of on page elements as well.

OP, make sure the inner pages have lots of unique content, not just slightly adapted boiler plate. Check the titles and descriptions so that they're all different.
