E-Commerce Store with $1,5k?

I was thinking of creating my first e-commerce store but I can spend only $1,5k which is not that much considering you need a decent stock to keep the business growing. I can not do drop shipping because it would take too long for the transport to arrive and my only option is wholesale.

What do you think would be the best option? Get more money or start with cheap items so I can have a bigger stock?

$1500 is enough for a start, unless your COGS is high.
