not sure whether penalized or google dance?

Hi, guys

i have this site i'm working on and i'm trying to rank some pages in the serps. i have around 60 pages with 800+ words of content on average. i've built backlinks to the main url and now i'm drilling down to the main kws that i'm trying to rank for.

so i have this kw with 5600 searches/mth and i used some services in the bst to build links to it. i used the same service on a few lower comp keywords and those are ranked now. but this kw in particular is gone from the serps. i wonder what happened.

i've included the image showing the serp action past few weeks. is this a penalty or google dance? if it's a penalty what should i do? should i be worried?

I think it's just dancing, since it's awfully new. Plus, everything else is ranking from what I understood in your post.

Thats just to know if your website is indexed and not checking if its penalized.

OP, wait a couple or more days to see if the rankings improve, if they don't, you have been hit.

If you are penalized then all of your keywords would disappear from search engines. period

the easiest way to check if Google hit your site is
site:yoursite.com
if you dont get results , Google ihas checked your site and it temporarily out of the index
this could mean a penalty o re-evaluation

Dude, you're not penalized... Relax! As I told you before, if you were penalized, all of your keywords would disappear...

ok, assuming i'm penalized, how do i tell whether it was penalized because of on page reasons or off page backlinks? is there any way to know?

check your backlinks and disavow the bad ones
try to update content everyday and start again backlinking

If it is a manual penalty then you should have a message in your google webmaster tool. As only some keywords are affected, in my opinion you have over-optimized your keywords as anchor texts. If it is the case then you might need to dilute them by building more links by using your urls and generic keywords as anchor texts.
