Update: So a bit worried here now....I have the keyword im targeting in the speed rank buffer site, and its starting to rank me with the godaddy parking displaying on the domain. Rookie mistake there i guess, so lesson learned. Just hope Google wont slap me before i can redirect it. On the other hand, pretty amazing to see these links in action with no content at all, and still ranking me just after 7 days after buying the service :) Any advice guys? Tommy?? Help!!

Update: Still havent recieved the domain from godaddy, but have decided to redirect my sape buffer anyway. The reason for this is google ranking my godaddy parking page, and im afraid that it will be slapped. I want to have this buffer stationary, and since my diversity backlink package from BST has started to settle down on my moneysite i will redirect my buffer site. As soon as i get my expired domain, I will redirect that also. Not the excact order i wanted to do the redirects, but well see what happens. Tommy's speed rank links are definitely working, just check the screenshot below for my buffer site, only containing go daddy parked page, and still louds of links to be indexed :) 1 week since i ordered!!!!

Damn dude! Amazing stuff haha although you could have contacted us we would have frozen it for you for a bit, but it is what it is now. Good to see the diverse links are settling to the money site.

Not much advice I can give you, you did the right thing redirecting the speed rank buffer for now, but you losing time here on these links too you could have deffinitley shot me a message to freeze them, but man all in all that looks positive and should send some nice juice when you redirect it back, with the 301 too shit gonna be interesting :)

Subb'd :D Even though BHW is huge, but it still lacks the number of SEO journals that we expect.

@Op, great going so far. Keep it up!

One question! will this work if i use as 301 redirect a high pr tumblr blog?

Sorry dude, have no freaking idea. My guess is it would be better to build a network out of tumblr blogs and link to your site from there

Thanks for the input tommy, yeah hopefully i can redirect the expired domain this week, and salvage some of the damage :) But then again, what is a live case study without drama and action??? Besides, part of what i want to uncover with this case study is if its possible to dominate a niche by keeping your 301's stationary, so even if this website gets slapped it will be interesting to see if removing the redirects and pointing at new moneysite is efficient and fast. It seems to work for Tony_d from what i read anyway :) Now, if godaddy can just release that fuc**ng domain.....

It may be better to slap on a niche relevant article on the domain and let it sit for a few weeks before you 301 it. Whilst it's sitting there you can start sending links to it. Once the new content has been indexed and the domain has some fresh links, then do the 301. forgive me if someone has mention this before I the thread. I've had some great results with this method.

Excellent twist there, and for sure no doubt that will be highly effective. Another one is to do the expired domain redirect, and then build the sape/High PR links straight to money site. Its all about testing and tweaking, trial and error, this case study will show us what happens with this twist :) Thanks for ur input!

I'm really interested in this, i'm planning to do something very similar in near future, good thing i stumbled upon your journey thread. Subscribed and good luck!

Well, there have been loads recently. If anyone is thinking of doing some tests, SHARE IT WITH BHW :)

Anytime. Best of luck!

Update: Talked to Godaddy support today, and they said it will be friday the EARLIEST. So I started to digg true my inventory, and found a domain I decided to use for this case study. A bit hesitant as the backlink profile is a bit spammy, but what the hell, this is churn and burn after all :) The domain is from 2011, and redirected it to money site 1 hour ago. Now its just a waiting game :)

It would be useful to know how much this has cost you for this project so far?

Expired domain ==> $20
Speed Rank platinum package ==> $425 Recurring
Linkworm from BST biggest package ==> $100

The linkworm package is optional and not crucial, if the expired domain has a desent amount of backlinks to mix up your anchor profile!

So, Speed Rank is the biggest ranking factor here :)

Well, it ranked my domain with nothing but the godaddy parking page displaying #22 for a 2 million searches keyword after 7 days :) They are lethal, but you will get slapped fast if your anchor profile is not diversified. Thats where the expired domain comes in...transfers the age to avoid sandbox, and a bit authority as well, and diversifies your anchor text profile. Just do your due dilligence on the domain and your good to go

I started a similar method around the same time as you. But I got my domain straight away. I paid $40 instead of $20 though - but I don't mind since I got it right away and its 10 years old and niche related.

I did this by posting in domaining forums - I had a ton of offers to choose from. Just specifiy your criteria in the thread like:

must be in X niche or have X amount of backlinks or a clean link profile or X amount of years old and still indexed. People will send you tons of offers - you won't have to wait for GoDaddy and you will probably only end up paying a few bucks more.

Anyways, good luck I'll be watching and hopefully we both hit our goal :)

Will definitely look into this. Godaddy has a 5 day verification process after purchasing the domain, wich is kind of annoying if you have a project on the go. Good luck to you as well :)
