[Journey] Ranking my first video on google

Long story short, I thougth it is time to seriously take action this time. I will try to rank my video on google's first page and I will use this thread to track my progress. Here is what I did so far:

-Wrote a script and hired a VA on fiverr to do it.
-Made a video which is a slideshow but I used good images + the VA does the talking, I'm not using text. The vid is HD and over 2 minutes long.
-Bought a custom domain for my niche, and made a landing page for the CB product I'm promoting. I send the visitors from the video there.
-Uploaded the vid on the 20th of january, and gradually added some views and likes/comments with vagex and enhanceviews.
-Ordered a link pyramid service for 10$ with a 10 day drip feed. When they finished building the links my vid popped up on page 2 for two keywords I am targeting (keyword 2 is a longtail version of keyword 1). But disappeared soon after and it keeps doing that to this day.
-Soon after I ordered some social posts (5$ - yeah I'm on a low budget) but there was a delay in delivery so I only got it yesterday, can't really tell if it did any good just yet.
-Ordered another link pyramid with 10 day drip feed like 2 days ago because it seemed to work last time.
-Now I am waiting for my link pyramid to be finished / for my existing links to get crawled/indexed.

My rankings so far:
KW1: best position is 15, worst is 20

KW2: best is 19, worst is 24


As you can see it's not very consistent yet. These 2 keywords have like 4500 monthly searches combined and I'm already at page 2 sometimes so wish me luck. Also, I corrected a spelling error in my vid's title yesterday, now it's an exact match for KW1. Hope this will help. My vid description is 300 words only, do you guys think I should make it longer, like 500 or 800 words?

YES. Make ALL your descriptions 1000 words minimum.

I swear to god a few weeks after I made that change my earnings shot from $50-$100 / week to $200-$300 / week.
Keep in mind, most people will NOT read the article, so you can type it out fast as hell. Just be sure to plug your keywords in as much as possible. Google can not read videos so a huge article makes your video that much more relevant.

Also, if you research highly competitive niches MOST OF THEM use extremely long articles. So learn from the pros.

I love the fact that your journey is extremely concise and focused. Just 1 plan, 1 goal, 1 thing to focus on. This is the best way to learn if you ask me.

Just keep in mind, videos do NOT rank quick (most of the time). Even after doing this for years, I'd had to develop a strategy just to deal with my own impatience. And that strategy is to always have new videos uploaded and ranking. So I have a steady stream of videos that are aging / ranking in the SERPS.

In your position, where you're only dealing with 1 video, you can't really do that. So you NEED to be patient. 10 weeks is a good average for most niches I've gone after. Some take 3 weeks, some take 6 weeks, but most my videos have taken over 8 weeks to rank. One took about 14 lol.

Either way, patience is a virtue when it comes to ranking anything.

I agree with that, but at the same time, while he tries to rank the video, there will be plenty of time to try and build a site by creating articles, good graphics and all that cool stuff.

Either way, patience is a virtue when it comes to ranking anything.

Thank you for the advice! Yeah, this journey only has a single goal (ranking video in google) precisely because that is what I want to learn But for now, here is what I did today:

I took SpiderBlast's advice and made a longer description for my video. It turned out YT has a 5000 character limit for description, so I couldn't make it 1000 words+, it's like 974 words or something like that lol. It is not very well written, but I used my keywords whenever I could and most people won't be reading it anyway so I hope it will be fine.

Apart from that, I haven't really did anything useful. I watched the winter olympics on TV with my grandparents and we have some distant relatives visiting us so I didn't really have time.

Also, my vid isn't ranking for any of its keywords for now so I'll have to wait for my links.

Small update: nothing really happened today. I have finally got home. At least I managed to get like ~40$ by IRL means This will go right into my campaign budget. I'll update the journey next time when anything noteworthy happens.

Update: Still waiting for my link package. I'm checking my video every day with ahrefs and its link profile gets better day by day. It keeps dancing though. Right now its not ranked anywhere but it keeps popping up on page 2.
And also, I checked my CB account and guess what, I got a sale:

This one is from my vid I know because it has its own tracking code. It's not much, but it's a start.

You need more high quality backink for that suggest you for private network blogs.

Update: All keywords are jumping around on page 2. They don't seem to disappear completely anymore but they can be anywhere between the 11th and 17th spot whenever I check them. Currently waiting for them to settle down and doing some research regarding what should be my next step.

Update: So what did I do recently? I did a lot of research and decided to subscribe to indexification. Now I don't really have the money to a full monthly subscription but the owner is a member here (innozemec) and he was nice enough to offer me a 5$ monthly membership with 1000 link submissions per day. Which is enough for my project for now. A few days have passed since then and today when I checked my rankings I saw this:

Holy shit. One of my keywords is on page 1!!! This is the first time I succeeded at something like this I know the 9th spot is not that great but it is proof that I can do this! For now I will continue to add my links to indexification, and see what happens.

I try to rank for keywords that are 'problems' for which the product I'm promoting is a possible solution. Basically all of my keywords are the variants of the same phrase. I already made conversions in the past from youtube alone, so I know my vid will convert if I manage to get targeted visitors. And I already have a different set of keywords for the same product which I will target with another video if I succeed with this one.

I've ranked my youtube video with mass backlinks and High private blog networks actually owned $70. Today only ranked on google it's on 3rd rank and i won't publish my video here tho, So Keep work hard to achieve We'll help you to reach the top edge of the mountain

Update:

The keyword I talked about previously seems to be climbing up slowly, but it still does a lot of dancing during the day. The good thing is, it dances on page 1, although not in the top 5.
My other keywords are still dancing on page 2. I also checked the Canadian and British google rankings for my keywords, and they are doing fine. One of them is at the 10th spot so there is still hope

What I'm doing now: I keep submitting 1000 links to indexification every day. It seems to have some nice results so far. I figured I should only submit the last tiers of my pyramids because that way google will naturally crawl down on the rest of the tiers. Since I see positive results I will continue this until all of my links are submitted.

How do you track the rankings of your videos on youtube/google? Where are those screenshots from?

And with regards to keywords of videos , how does it work?

Are those keywords you have supplied to youtube when uploading the video?
