Best Way To Build Internal Links

Hey Fellow BH's!

I am in the process of building a website and have 100's of articles (which now I will be slowly drip feeding) which are being added to the site.

None of these articles have links built into them yet. First I will be only focusing on internal links.

Currently I am reading 10 different articles about the best and most efficient ways to build internal links. I was hoping to get more! I am reading the first 10 articles that I found, but I would LOVE if someone knew a particularly good one that they can share. Or simply share some of their own advice.

My particular questions include:

1. What is the best way to organize yourself when you are linking pages within your website? We are going to be building up to a few hundred article pages in a few months and it will be very difficult to keep track of it all. Do you just use a spreadsheet and write out each page url along with what they are linked to?
2. For anchor text; What is an acceptable amount of times to use the same anchor keyword in an article without raising flags?
3. How much of a mix should I have between image and text urls? Does this ratio apply the same to external links?
4. Any software that may help in this process?
5. Anymore advice?

And if this thread already exists please let me know and I will stop bothering all you beautiful people.

This is much simipler than you're making it seem.

The best way? Sit down, and read each and every article. When you mention a topic that doesn't have any background information within the article, either write one, or link to one.

This is exactly how you build an authority website, and allows for the most diverse, natural looking links imaginable. Most importantly though, it's good for UX, which is already being weighed into Google's algorithm, and will probably increase in importance over the next couple of years.

1. Like negligence said above, read through each article and add links only where it is relevant to the reader. Go back to your old articles, and see where you can drop some internal links in and possible improve/update the content too.
2. Use random anchor text, and link randomly. Don't make it obvious to Google that you're trying too hard to target that keyword.
3. Text URLs are fine. How many sites do you usually see with image internal links embedded in content? It's horrible user experience.
4. There are some Wordpress interlinking plugins, but they only use selected keywords (ie inserts example.com/gayporn where ever it sees the text "gay porn")
5. To target keywords properly, don't use the same anchor for internal linking. Bruce Clay silos are infinitely better: http://www.bruceclay.com/seo/silo.htm

I just figured that with everyone here trying to streamline the SEO process someone would have figured something out. Regardless thank you for the tips, and I have actually read that Bruce Clay article as well - very useful!
