Hi all,

I have an android game to be launched this year. So, I am gathering the best possible things for it.

So, I have to buy x.com (Let 'x' be my game name) which will expire sometime in may 2014. If the owner of domain doesn't renew subscription, and the due date comes. So, will the domain be available for purchase normally? (Like from any of web hosting site) Or there is some other way to do so?

Every kind of help is appreciated! :)

The domain goes to different period, i think it takes 2 months to be free again after expiration. Meanwhile you can buy it with some $60 minimum.

You can search for this question on most search engines and get an instant reply. The rules are the same for all US registrars.

So, is it guaranteed I will get the domain? I don't wanna undergo through some sort of auction. And are you talking about back-buying?

Yeah, back-order, never tried but i think it goes first come first serve if more buyers are there. Whoever has made first buying request will get the domain. Search at namepros, this must be a common question there.

Back-ordering does not guarantee you will get it. If someone else also has it on back-order it will go to auction.

If there are no backorders and no bids on expired auction, domain will be back to the registry and you can register it for the normal reg. fee ( Around after 40 days of expiry)

yes,if there is no backorders you have a chance to get that domain name.but keep in mind that many domain resellers are looking for expiring domains so you better be ready.

It's not too popular domain. But is a good one.

So, if I backorder, and no one else bids for it, I get the domain right when it expires?

If you're the only one to backorder the domain, you'll get the domain at no additional cost ( Reg fee included - 1 year)
If there are many, your backorder credits will be used in the auction and you'll be notified when you are outbid so that you can place higher bid

After purchase on an auction, godaddy seems to take around 2 weeks to get the domain pushed to your account, sucks to be honest.
