gybo.com are offering a free .com domain name and free hosting for the year. The free hosting is rubbish - limit of 3 pages and you cant upload html.

But......

wait till the name is registered then cancel your account, then you will be contacted details on how to transfer the domain to another hosting provider for free

Even for free signup u need to provide credit card details and if u want privacy to enable then $1/month.

The thing is that it works and you can uncheck privacy box and its all free , but ...... the thing is that even if you provide them with credit card detalis , after a few days they remove your account if you move the domain.
Its my fift account canceled after i changed DNS's.
Its ok if you want to keep the site there , but the design and posibilities are really limited.

Yup it works but only for US citizens.

Dont think so you can transfer domain so easily - there must be some catch of registering domain for 1 year at least.
