Rankings down then up then down ?

Hi all,

Recently I saw some stranges moves on one of my website and I don't really know how I should approach that anymore.

Previously, I was ranking good for most of my keywords, most of them page 1. Then everything dropped like -30 to -60 positions on the SERP.
I'd guess it was a hit for some shitty links I purchased long time ago. After the hit, I disavowed all these shitty links. Few weeks later, all keywords are back at their positions, some even better than before.

But today, everything is down again. I didn't build any new backlinks to the site for several months now. Besides backlinks, I've got pretty much the best content for the niche.

What's your opinion on that ? I didn't get any message on Webmaster Tool. Honestly I'm a bit lost now. Should I just delete the website and build a new one with all my content ?

Google web spam algo is a continous update and probably caught up with some of the crappy links you thought were good to go.

Give it a few days to ascertain your true position.

I would second what others are saying.
Be patient for a few days and monitor.

In the meantime, start looking for places where you can get some nice trusted links from.
Maybe become a donor or sponsor for some non-profit or college.

This way, if your rankings don't recover, you have a strategy that you can implement ready-to-go.

90% of the times you see your rankings dip in and out of the serps it is a tell-tale sign of the infamous Google Dance.

Don't stress over it too much, things should level out and your rankings will return once the dance settles.

Like for me if i do not update for 15 days my rankings drop

But once i update they come back to their original positions

Well it's kinda strange, I usually get a Google dance when I creating new backlink or whatever, but rankings were steady for several months with 0 links created besides the naturals ones. aka people sharing content etc.

You need to be active interms of creating backlinks,... In seo you cannot just keep it like that...

Yup, trying to add some fresh new stuff isnt a bad idea, but don't limit yourself to "one or two articles". Surprise Google with a completely new 2000+ words piece or something like this and you'll be good for another few months
