Multiple blogs on the same host? Bad for SEO?

So I am planning a multi blog setup, and I'm wondering if I should use multiple hosts and spread them out for a better chance of ranking or not.

Problem is, multi host is a MUCH cheaper option.

Does having multiple blogs (that you want to rank for the same niche) on the same host effect there chance of ranking?

Are you looking to rank for the same niche or for the same main keywords? I don't think it really matters though it is always better to use different hosts where possible.

You can have 3-5 blogs on 1 ip but more than that will start to look spammy.

People use shared hostting and rank well and you say having 3-5 blogs look spammy. Don't believe what others tell you

There is no problem if you run multi blogs (in different domain names and the same IP address) for getting top ranking at Google. If you are intended to run the different niches and to target different keywords.

But....

This is inefficient, if you want to run one niche only. I suggest you focus one blog to get max results.

My hosting talked me out of getting a separate IP address for my site. They said it doesn't affect SEO.

I must recommend you to host max 2-3 different niche blogs under 1 hosting account - If you want to save your whole network from Google God.

After few updates Google is very strict in terms of catching blog networks.

You can use same hosting with different IPs, that won't affect your SEO. Make sure to sustain the quality of blogs which you're planning to use for SEO purpose.

It is more important to be hosted on a good and reliable host with quick page load times.

I run multiple blogs on the same host with same ip and they ranks well.

No problem with that. Unless you will be making a big network with these blogs then you should try to divide them into different IPs

Depends upon the number of blogs , you can use different ip's though , not affect a lot , unless your blog network is 20+.
