Ross William Ulbricht (AKA, Dread Pirate Robert's), this 29 year old student made an estimated 80 million in fees within 2 years with Silk Road. It's hard to believe what is possible on the net.

They must have seized all of that money because his family is raising money for legal fees on a crowd funding website. He may get out of it. There really is not that much evidence connecting him to Silk Road.

He got caught because he got careless. He started posting his real Gmail on programing boards and other sites. They tracked every move after that.

If you were brave enough to start a profit making website on the hidden web (TOR), what would your idea be?

It said making money? This refers to making money?

Honestly, the smart way to make money with Tor is to not make money with Tor. The hidenwiki is constantly edited, so false sites may be posted. The '.onion' links are impossible to remember, so who knows what the real site is?

making money means this section is for money making "methods" not stories about money making...

'.onion' links are posted everywhere on the regular web. Once the site gets popular. The marketing part is virtually the same. You get traffic from content spread out over the web. Kind of like building backlinks for SEO.

the $80mil worth of bitcoin is still in his wallet without he need to tell the fbi the password. he just cannot laundering it all

Its just that he got so careless. 80 million is such a large amount to make in just two years. It makes the dark hidden web tempting.

the idea? silk road 2.0 but i read somewhere its made already

I'm all for blackhat, but drugs and money laundering... How many lives have been ruined/taken because of this type of thing. Sure there are benefits, but its better to stick within the law whether you agree with it or not.

This guy was making money at any cost and now see the results, he got caught

He got caught because he started posting his real email all over the place.

i guess the best way could be selling and outsourcing all the operations before things started getting tighter. And why did he still keep alive the website despite several DDoS attacks from Dutch police? Money is like drugs, once you are earning it big you get addicted to money and can't quit.

This is really not about "hide your ass" game, or "criminal", it is just about do you have value to been seized.
