I'm almost done writing my first e-book, considering CB, what should I know?

Hey guys, I'm almost done writing my first e-book.

It's an extensive and extremely detailed (pretty much hand holding) guide on how to make money on Fiverr.
I currently make enough money on Fiverr to work from home (I actually made a thread on BHW recently contemplating whether or not I should drop out of school to do IM full time... and I did) and I decided to share my blueprint, giving away all my methods, including how I outsource and everything.

However, I'm a complete noob to Clickbank. I'm not even sure Clickbank is the best/right platform for what I want to do. Currently there are only 3 ebooks on CB for Fiverr, and they don't look like they provide the quality of information I do. So I think I could beat them out, potentially.

I will also have videos, and an audiobook with the e-book.

I have web design experience and I know how to make a really beautiful site, I'd rather make my own marketing/landing page than use one of those cookie cutter black on white clickbank style pages. Is this okay?

I was also considering offering something like 50% commission, but charging something like $48 for my e-book.

Sorry if this comes off as self promotion or something, I'm not linking anything or won't, I genuinely just want to know what's the best platform, or if CB is the best platform for me, what should I know?

50% commission is a good percent, you'll have to realize that to you it will be free money when affiliates promote it. Affiliates will promote it if they are likely to get a high percentage of the price.

Your main key will be your sales page. You should spit test this over and over to try to increase conversions by even the smallest percentage points. Never stop split teseting. If you have a high converting sales page it will bring up your gravity in clickbank when other affiliates promote it, and with a high gravity it will attract more and more affiliates which will lead to a huge snowball effect.

What you should know is that they have strict rules about sales pages. You can read them on clickbank. And also as soon as you have the offer approved, tons of auto bots and websites will rip the content from your site 100% and blog about, and make automated crap videos, of your offer with their affiliate IDs in them, along with the words scam, fake, fraud, etc. so that if anyone searches those terms they'll get the sale.

Your best bet is to have a good SEO presence before going to clickbank so that affiliate sites don't beat yours out on google.

When you are looking out for a platform where to sell your product, you need to choose the one which has more affiliates, not the one which looks the prettiest.

As war as I know Clickbank has a pretty good portfolio of affiliates and there are a bunch of methods around BH forums which include Clickbank.

Yes I think Clickbank would be a good option. Its very rare to find real ebooks written by those who know how to make money using a certain platforms such a fiverr. There are many others of a similar nature, but really the information shared are those that either do not work anymore or the writer has only chosen to share certain aspects of it.

Also since you're in the IM niche I would defiantly try selling it on Warrior Forum as a WSO. That site has tons and tons of buyers looking to be sold products to teach them how to make money. You can hire a freelancer to make you a really aesthetic sales graphic for your thread. Include some charts, graphs and other screen shots in it as well.

If the content is good you can give out a few free copies to some top members to get a testimonial in return. Then quote the testimonial in your thread, it will go along way. Good luck, I might pick up a copy of your ebook when it's ready.

I was thinking about WSOs, but I am so paranoid. I keep worrying about piracy or somebody copying and pasting my work and selling it off as their own. I was thinking about uploading torrents of fakes with my ebook's name on them, to kind of ward it off. But I know I won't be able to stop it, only slow it down. I also plan on watermarking all my images in my book and my videos.

PS, amazing advice and help... I can always rely on BHW. I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for you guys. I hope I can give back half as much as you guys help me.

Yeah, but I hate DRM and the like, so I'd rather not do that. I guess I'll just put a pathetic plea at the beginning of my book. Even if it stops 10 people from sharing, or gets 10 people to pay for my book, it's worth it.

Don't worry about piracy. Most of the people who search for an ebook on warez forums or torrents wouldn't pay for it in the first place. Just make sure to add a few affiliate links to your ebook and let them share it, extra income

This is from our own personal experience:

1) Offer 75% not 50%

2) Forget $48 go for $47 instead (it would make a world of difference conversion wise)

3) Invest in testing and optimizing your sales funnel PRIOR to submitting the product to the marketplace

4) Offer top notch affiliate tools

5) Have your autoresponder email series in place and build your list of customers and non customers

6) Hire an affiliate manager and start recruiting super affiliates

7) Forget about superior design. In most cases, ironically enough, it pulls customers away. Go for the clean and credible look instead.

8) Test E V E R T H I N G

I think you will find that 75% is the absolute must commission for a Clickbank product otherwise affiliates wont bother with it. I think an ebook is going to be hard to shift though at around $47. Thinking about fiverr the person will need to have more than 12 completed gigs just to get their money back. If they have got to spend out money on outsourcing etc to complete the gigs then its going to be expensive. Some people will lose their inspiration by then and will just request a refund. You would do better with a much more attractive intro price and then upsells after that.

Hey Corey. If I were you, think of this as a REAL product, identify your target market, and I don't mean.. 18 - 25 males with PC's... Really get to the nitty gritty of it. Then work out what makes that market niche tick.. Once you have understood the market you can get into their mind sets and sell easier.

With regards to piracy, why not let that be your friend? Stuff affiliates, OTO's and upsells in the book, release a slimmed down version, MAKE SURE its pirated, hell, even do it yourself. Remember all publicity is good publicity.

Then think about how you can capitalise on the ebook, is it part of a series, do you have a blog with email sign ups? Any monthly income?

Curious as to why $47 instead of $48?
Personally, I sell mine for $49.95 and I offer a 75% commission. (Standard for ebooks) Good advice!

This is due to different pricing mix marketing approach. The leverage to be used here is the psychological effect of different price tags. It has to do with different numbers and their subconscious effect on people.

"Prices that end in 9, 99, or 95 Known as "charm prices," prices ending in 9, 99, or 95 make items appear cheaper than they really are. Since people read from left to right, they are more likely to register the first number and make an immediate conclusion as to whether the price is reasonable." - source Yahoo Finance

Also an interesting source of info on the matter is Psychological pricing (wikipedia link)

Ending prices with the number 9 is one of the oldest pricing methods in the book. Prices ending in 9 are so effective they are sometimes able to outsell even lower prices for the exact same product. There are many studies proving the tendency of how "9" in the end of the price outperforms any other price.

There is however the unwritten rule, that in the internet marketing world prices should end in a "7". Maybe it's just an established trend that is kept by IM-ers, maybe there is something more to prices ending with a "7". But I've noticed IM products' prices end with a "7" 9 out of 10 times.

^^ added to that, I saw a case study (don't remember the link) where a guy fiddled round with the price from $17 - $99 and he got the most conversions at $47 by a big margin.

He got much more sales at $47 vs $40 vs $48. He got more revenue at $47 vs $99 and $97. He got little bit less SALES at $47 vs $17. Seems like $47 is magic number (not 42 as we all think )
