Quote Notification

I think it would be beneficial to ownership and the members, to add quote notifications. So when someone quotes your post, you get a notification so you can check what they said to you.

I've found a plugin to do this to made the admin's life easier, but there are probably others that will work too.

This would increase conversation on the forum.

It would also increase spam. Many people sign up to try and sell something, so if they know that quoting gives you a notification then they'll always quote and the system would be abused.

It hasn't happened on other forums. Anyways, people can already spam and sell stuff right now by just posting... Quoting a post will just give your post 1 more pair of eyeballs.

Other forums aren't this popular for spam.

That's true, people can already spam but I don't get numerous notifications at the moment and I'd like it to stay that way.

You're only seeing this from one side, which is your own side, the cons outweigh the pros.

I'd rather just check threads that I've posted in to see if anyone has quoted me rather than get loads of notifications.

Digital Point is notorious for spam.

Just because you have a bunch of Facebook notifications, does that mean you check them all? No... What's the difference here? A little number in the corner shouldn't bother you.

Judging by the fact that you sell your signature for money, yeah you probably do have the time to check the threads you posted to.
