I recently hired someone to do some SEO for me. As soon as his social bookmarks where visible on google I noticed my traffic was dropping, dropping fast. Could this be coincidence or due to bad SEO? The traffic started dropping about 2 days after he started the social bookmarking. All the titles/descriptions are the same, told him to make it unique but he says it doesn't make a difference. What do you guys think? Coincidence or bad SEO?

How many social bookmarks you made ?
And who was this genius that says it doesn't make a difference lol ?
If you spam 1k sites with same titles/descriptions, it screams miles away it's spam!

Having the same title and description is bad idea.. I change my post, it takes less than 2 days, as I remember when i remove my interlinking the next day my SERP went down..

yea, doesn't 2 days sound abit too fast? Didn't think negative SEO could take effect in just 2 days.

You still don't get it LOL, it's not neg-SEO happening here, it's your own SEO that you fucked up!
Btw the post above was *sarcasm*

Hope he has a refund policy lol. How much did you pay him to do negative SEO on your site? =\ You can probably come back fairly quickly w/ some diversity in your profile, if that's truly what made you tank.

When will you people learn you can't be doing unnatural looking linking period. I don't care if someone could get me 1 million Facebook likes for free if it ain't natural, it's pointless and harmful.

k tnx for the help, was thinking the same thing. Hopefully editing the titles/descriptions to make them unique will reverse this mess.

Better remove it and share some quality stuff.Quality seo can never wrong.

Yea this is the last time in a while i pay for SEO, i've always done it myself 100% natural and it's never gone wrong. Just figured google probably knows content spam occurs if they see like 50 bookmarks released on the same day lol that probably contributed to the bad SEO.

Stay away from social bookmarks, especially the automated/low quality type.

And from the sounds of it, the SEO "expert" you've hired is still living in 2012. Tell him to get up to speed or give him the boot and hire someone who (a) knows what they're doing and (b) stay's up to date with the latest and greatest SEO strategies.

Hopefully this was a practice website of yours, and nothing of value to you.
This was not bad SEO. This was absolutely HORRID SE[de]O!

He Search Engine De-Optimized your website.
After he told you what he said about it not making any difference, you should have requested a refund, on the spot.

The good news is that it's not the end of your website. Get rid of those links, though. You can keep one of them if you really want to, but the rest of them, get rid of them.

Once that's done, build quality links!
If you don't know how, at the moment, there are plenty of qualified people here, on BHW, that can do that for you!
Make sure you go through their threads and look beyond the fancy pictures. Actually take some time and READ THE REVIEWS. Read carefully, what each service offers, so that you'll begin to understand what SHOULD be happening, after handing someone your money. Then again, I'll say, READ THE REVIEWS.

Good luck with your website, and remember, it's not the end.

You may also want to open up a "Shitlist" thread about this seller, so that you can save other people from becoming one of his victims, in the future.

Everything can if abused. Use it manually on good sites and you will have nothing to worry about.

And also we want to do keyword diversity with unique meta description in the HQ bookmarking site. We want to mix up with all the links ie., both do follow & no follow links. Because it shows a natural link building....

Horrible. Hope you learned your lesson. Maybe all sites were hosted on same IP with spun French text in Cyrillic language? Social bookmarks can be very powerfull when dripfed slowly, but under no circumstances should they be spammy.

any links can cause negative SEO, as long as they are ********. You can recover from your penalty by disavowing those links.

Try natural backlinking, is more effecting than spamming the shit out of backlinks. You can do it with content lock for social networks or something more specific.
