Guest Posting Penalized - Now What?

So you're going to sit there and tell me that if I pitch my topic idea to the editor of forbes and they confirm that my content is in alignment and meets their quality guidelines. And they publish my article in in a relevant and appropriate spot on their site, this will penalize my site? Seriously?

Not only will you receive ton's of link juice but you'll also get hordes of referral traffic to your site from such a post. Think of all the PPC budget you would save with just a single guest post on a high authority site. I typically charge my clients $300 - $1000 for a guest post on a site like forbes and they are always happy with the results.

Guest blogging isn't dead!

Matt cutts just makes these announcements to scare large corporations into playing by the rules. Fact is Google cannot easily catch guest blogging, but if they act like they can and bust a few people for it people will stop doing it.

Don't buy into everything the big G tells you.

Have you read the entire discussion? We are talking about "scaled" guest posting (10-15 each month for a single website). Would Forbes and CNN let you do a guest post about a single business/website 15 times a month, each and every month? Probably not I'm guessing.

I just found (a few weeks late) that guest posting is now officially penalized. So if we wanna go completely white hat, what's there to do, what other link building methods are there that don't get penalized?

First, guest blogging hasn't been penalized. It's still officially allowed.

Second, if you do guest blogging ?the right way? and focus on creating and sharing fantastic content as opposed to simply getting a link, there's absolutely NO risk of Google penalizing your sites?ever! After all, high-quality relevant content is what Google needs. No matter whether it's a guest post or not.

In case you are running a legitimate blog that accepts guest posts, you just need to up your game on whom you allow to guest post on your site. Make sure that those posts are informative and useful for your audience.

In case you are a blogger and want to submit your posts to some relevant highly-rated blog, you can derive the following benefits from that:

- build a community
- brand awareness
- increase your authority/credibilit
- grow your reach
- and a lot more

Summing up:

Natural whitehat guest blogging is far from being dead and, and still can offer fantastic exposure, traffic for content marketers and even generate some real links.

Guest posting is white hat technique though try not getting links from cheap spammy low quality guest blogs. Only, those spammy guest blogs being ripped off not all the guest blogs out there practicing the concept authentically.
