In reality, if you mean this in regards to money, your biggest obstacle would be those already in power at the top. Society is engineered in a way that the most prosperous remain that way, and those at the bottom have a hard time closing the gap financially. It's always been this way, probably always will as long as there's a monetary system and a structured government. The alternative would be anarchy I suppose.
