I am a salesman before I am a programmer. I do have few client I am providing SEO for, but it is all outsourced. I have done web design and my cormfort zone is building databases with PHP. My clients are either realtors and car dealerships. That is my money maker. I am slowly starting to see the necessity to broaden more into online marketing. I am here for that reason. Learn. I know what SEO is. Executing is what i am working on.

While I agree with you on so many levels. I am learning and will not stop learning. I have been out sourcing the service for my clients and it sucks when you do not know much about the dynamics of your product. Its good to know what kind of battle I am up againist but sadly none of these SEO gurus can be seen face to face.

Oh don't take what I said the wrong way buddy. I have no doubt that if you believe in yourself you will succeed one day. I just wanted you to understand some of the people you are competing against make 6 figures + doing SEO and could write books answering the questions you asked here about backlinks and ranking.

You're on the right track though, stick with it, work hard, and ask questions
