Best site to start a blog

As I understand it, this form of writing content and networking offers more control than aggregate sites so I was wondering which blogging platforms would you recommend, this is also for adsense of course.
Also I was wondering if you could make identical blogs on multiple different platforms with integrated adsense, would that work?

Blogspot seems like the obvious choice
One you have enough buy a domain with some hosting and slap on wordpress

So if you have your own domain + hosting you can use blogger (or wordpress.org) if not you need to use blogspot (or wordpress.com)

identical blogs? Same content or unique? If the same you will get slapped, else you can use the same design over and over again (not the content).

I would advise against 'identical blogs' for a couple of reasons.
-If they are truly identical as in the content, then they will all be penalized for having essentially copy and pasted content
-Since you said you are doing adsense, I assume you are going to be driving your traffic through SEO, if thats true then you would essentially be competing against yourself in the rankings.

What would be better would be to make multiple blogs on multiple niches, and use the time you would save from not making duplicate blogs to instead make more quality content for your unique sites!

blogger and wordpress are the way to go simple and easy.

There's an article which would help you to identify what kind of blogging platform would best suit for you. I think I can't place links here. I'll mention the link here. Try it yourself. For me blogger is better as a free platform. If you have hosting with you, go for wordpress.
