Hi Meathead,

Got a site that's done about $11,000 in sales (~90%+ profit) since launching around 4 months ago, pretty strong growth, with about $3.6k in december. Nothing but whitehat seo - some really nice links. Pretty passive income, there's not much to do in the way of running it apart from come content marketing etc.

What do you think?

Site earning $2k-$4k per month, Huge niche with potential to make much more
Partnered with a Real Law firm that brings in even more revenue
100% Legal Niche!, 100% All unique content hand written by professionals
NO SEO done at all, Offline traffic.

I've got 2 sites to sell, they have both earned $70 in the last 30 days. One is via adsense, the other is via video sales. I know they are not worth a lot, but maybe they are worth a little.

Where do I sell them? I've tried on DP, but they require 3 likes (I don't have any) to post. Too many scam stories about Flippa, as well.

Where's a good place to sell sites like that, or are there site brokers that can sell sites like this for me?

This would be way too small for a broker. Unfortunately, Flippa really is your best bet at this level. As long as you sell through Escrow it's unlikely you'll get scammed.

I own a recipe website that makes an average of $300 or more/month though adsense. I've owned it for two months. It gains about 700 visitors per day and the traffic method will be sold with it.

Traffic is driven via pinterest of course and the pinterest account driving the traffic along with full details on how to do it will be sold with the website. I have full detailed screenshots of analytics and adsense earnings.

What's your evaluation for this site. And what would it have been if I owned the site for 3 month as you mentioned more history equals more value.

You really need 6 months of history to attract any serious interest. Pinterest is usually tricky as a traffic source as it tends to not be sustainable.

We are a movie directory(We don't provide streaming/embed/downloads/store movies at our servers) but we provide links and use the similar context to drive traffic to our website. Revenue is from banner ads and Pop unders.

Site history:
Sep,2013: Data Not available

Oct,2013: Visitors 6,000(UV=5,000)
Revenue: Not monetized

Nov,2013: Visitors 56,000(UV=50,000)
Revenue: Not Monetized

Dec,2013: Visitors 600,000(UV= 530,000)
Revenue: 1100$ (we started monetizing from dec 10)

Jan,2014(Till 20 Jan): Visitors 460,000(UV= 400,000)
Revenue:1200$

1)Other that value I will also like to know if my website is suitable for listing at blackhat forums? and what price do you think I can get from here?

2)How much revenue do you think website in this niche should generate to be sold at more than 10,000$??

[/FONT]

It's very hard to sell sites in the movie niche these days (directory or not) so I wouldn't be able to give you a valuation. You also don't have much history. If you had a year of history you might find someone open to buying it.

You could list it here (and while the demographic probably isn't the best for buyers, it would have people open to the niche) so could be worth a try!

Like most of the others, it is not old enough. With e-commerce buyers like to see a year of history so they can see the seasonality. If it is under a year old you're not going to get a great price for it.

Depends how old it is and how consistent those numbers are. Likely 2-2.5x your last 12 months if it is really stable traffic wise and with a solid source of revenue.

Hi Meathead

I have a few domains that I have not had time to develop so no revenue yet. (I know you normally place valuations on a domain/revenue calculation). I would really appreciate your appraisal.

hello,

how much do you think the site stop-smoking-information is worth?

I am thinking of buying it. Let me know.

Do you have at least the domain name or some stats about it? How much visitors it have in a day/month, where they come from, etc.? The niche is pretty hot, there are money laying there, but with no info, there is no way to help.

looking to sell my dating site - has a got fair bit of traffic and 1,000+ members (only been running for a month)

What's up Meathead?

I've got a handful of micro niche sites that have $1.00+ CPC and 1000+ mo. search volume EMD's, are already ranked high for their targeted KW's and earn only around ~$10-20 / month each. Was thinking about just selling them all off now that all of the outsourced work, domain registration, and other costs that were involved in making them has been paid off by the passive income they've generated.

What do you think 10 of these would be worth altogether? (Assume consistent ~$150.00 / mo. for all of them combined over the past 6 months)

Thanks in advance,

Meathead I was recommended in my thread to contact you about this:

I had a look at these before you removed the image and didn't see anything worth much more than reg fee in there.

Doesn't have enough history.

Probably 3-4k on Flippa.

If you were me, would you sell the site, rinse and repeat and create more similar sites?

Let me know if you or your clients are interested in buying it.

If not, I was planning on doing a Flippa DealFlow listing.

Hopefully this isn't off topic but I was curious of your take on .io domain name extensions and what they may be worth? I currently have an entire website live for sale on Flippa and was curious if you could give me any insight. If you can PM me that would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm - any advice? I picked up a domain that includes a top, international brand name and a keyword. Yesterday I was looking at godaddy and it was offering almost exactly the same domain for $15,000.
each is a three word domain, consisting of the Brand name and a keyword. In GoDaddy's the keyword is first, in mine the keyword is after the brand name.
I have the domain and was just starting the process of developing it, but now I wonder if I should just try to flip it. any suggestions?

There are some pretty impressive websites in this thread!

We discussed this via PM, but for the benefit of everyone else, best to keep sites with little income history.

Feel free to drop me a PM but if it's undeveloped, I wouldn't be much help. If it's an established site it will really depend on the income - I've sold a .io site before and the price we got was no different from if it had been a .com or other TLD.

If it uses an international brand name, I am assuming the term is trademarked. In which case, it's going to be worth barely anything. Ignore GoDaddy auctions. GoDaddy auctions are a joke.

I'm not sure where you got "20x revenue" from but that's not an industry standard valuation metric and anyone that tells you that either deals with very specific sites or is just making it up.

It really depends on the site and a lot of variables, but generally speaking you aren't going to get 20x revenue for a site that is only 3 months old. The minimum you should look for is 6 months of history, and the majority of buyers look for at least 1 year.

I have a site making up to $5500 per month, how much its worth, site ranking 2nd page for all keywords

Depends on too many variables for me to be able to give you a number from that information alone. Send me a PM if you'd like me to take a more detailed look.

actually I saw 20x to 25x revenue on empire flippers site so I thought this business will be good, make a site and sell for 20x

Yeah, that's not really true. Maybe for a very specific type of site (relatively low quality Adsense micro site) but for the majority of sites there is far more that goes into valuation that just multiplying the revenue. Need to take costs into account for a start. No-one is going to pay 20x revenue for a site generating 2k a month but spending 3k...

Yo Meathead, I was wondering what your take is on "bonuses" and "perks" that come along with many websites / domains on sites like Flippa. This is slightly off topic, but relates to flipping so I thought you'd have a decent perspective on it. Do you feel like these are just thrown in when the seller knows they're site/domain isn't worth asking price and this is used as a means to justify the price? Do you think as a seller it'd be worth putting together these little bonus bundles, with SEO training eBooks and all kinds of other random odd shit - or do most serious buyers not care about that junk? I'm assuming these types of things are primarily aimed at lower end sales, but I've seen a couple included 'perks' with some higher end websites/business for sale as well.
