freelancing sites

Hello,

i want to expand my business to online freelancing. i will invest my time and money(paid plans, exams etc..) to it, but i am not sure which of the sites is the best? which has the most projects posted? which is the most easy to start? any advice when starting?

i was checking freelancer.com, is any site better?

Start it right by posting in the right section of this forum.

Better start using forums based on your skills. Go there contribute something to the users first. You can give free reviews and then how business grows if you have the right skills.

In sites like freelancer.com they don't give you a shit if you are new and don't have any reviews ( as per my experience )

You will have a hard time before you get your first project ) it took me 2 months ) But if you know what you are going to do you can get a few because on freelancer most of the bid are made by bots so you'll have a fighting chance if you make custom proposals.

There are many sites like Freelancer.com, Elance, Odesk e.t.c, you can also use Forums for this

Depends on what skills you want to offer. Elance and oDesk are mostly 'all purpose' freelance marketplaces - it might be better to look for sites that are centered around your particular skillset (less bs, employers will probably know how much your work is worth).

Actually that depends on what you need, could be a full time or part time job/freelancer. Odesk, for example, is focused in contact jobs which may only last for several months but definitely not for a lifetime unless if the client(s) wants you to become his/her full time business partner.
I think Freelancer, Elance and Odesk have the same platform. However, if you need you more alternatives, you can always look on Staff.com and Fiverr.

Staff.com is focused in hiring full time / part time staff while Fiverr allows you to post gigs on their site for a start of $5 / gig or service.

Thanks. I got some love from Elance for whitelisting/troubleshooting, SEO, and Website Design work. Then there is some action with Guru and I got work in about a week. Yet I had my Elance profile for years. It took me some late nights to get all my portfolio and info in there. Thanks everyone for the comments. Lead me to better waters with the big 4. Elance, Guru, Frelancer, and oDesk. It was very hard since most said my bids were some of the highest. Yet the ones which accepted and escrowed are very happy. Work in progress, but good news is there are quite a few people in need for expert business consulting and work to be done.
