Hi

I'm looking for historical stock data (either by the minute, second or by the tic). I need at least 10 years of data - the more the better. I know a couple of websites that sell this but the prices ranges from several hundred dollars to several thousand. I'm looking to pay around $50 for all US stocks going back at least 10 years (must include volume).

If anyone can obtain the data from one of the following sites, I will be more than happy to pay for it..

csidata.com
esignal.com
pitrading.com

Thanks

I would scrape it for you, but 33GB of data?! A bit too much for $50.

Is this useful to you at all: http://unicorn.us.com/advdec/

Thanks for your reply.

1. Where would you scrape it from (where did you get the 33 GB figure from)?

2. The url above does not seem useful since it doesn't supply the actual trading volume for any given period above

33GB is the size of the data pack quoted on one of the websites you linked to.

Nasdaq lets you look at historical data from the last 10 years: http://www.nasdaq.com/quotes/historical-quotes.aspx

You need a stock symbols list to scrape the date, available here: http://eoddata.com/symbols.aspx

Maybe pick up a free trial of CapitalIQ? They might have the data you'd need and you can pull it quickly (enough).

What exchanges are you looking for? I can scrape the data for you, but $50 is astonishingly low. Some of that data goes for tens of thousands of dollars. Be realistic. If so, I will provide the 10 years of data for $2400 for minute data or higher for tick data.

Even if you scrape only per day data for around 2800 companies listed on NASDAQ for past 10 years, you end up with over 10 million rows. Since, you want per minute data, so you can do the maths here and can assume the volume of data that needs to be scraped.
So, your budget is too low.
