Seems like all my networks are moving over to "Cake" system. I fucking hate it.

I use sub id 1 to track all websites from one project. I then use sub id 2 to track the individual site within that project.

The problem with Cake (as far as I can tell) is that you cant run a report to see clicks and conversions from sub id 2.

The 'Subaffiliate report' they offer only shows subid 1. WTF

A sub id report on say Hitpath shows you a breakdown everything.

So what i want to know is, how can I run this type of report on Cake? Or cant I? If I cant then why the fuck are all the networks starting to use cake as it's shit.

Rant over. Please help.....

Try This, I don't use Cake much anymore, but I just tried it on an old network to see if it worked.

Go to Reports

Go to Conversion Report

You'll notice there's a tab for Creative/SubID1/SubID2/SubID3, Etc

Hover over SUBID 2 In your Case, you'll see a drop down arrow appear.

Click on Group By This Field. and then you can export it. You'll only get the Conversions though, as on the subaffiliate report, there is only 1 SUBID available.

However if you're familiar with Excel, i'm sure you could isolate the Data via pivot tables using the full report.

Hi,

Thanks alot for the input. Seeing the number of conversions from each subid2 is easy for me anyway as I tend to get under 50 sales per day and I can see that quite easily.

What I really want to see is clicks, conversions and EPC etc for each sub id. Then I can monitor which sites are doing well and which might need tweaking.

I guess I could change sub id 1 to be the individual website and sub id 2 the group but then id have other problems.

Surely this is such a basic and fundamental feature of any tracking system! Seems ridiculous that you cant do it in cake. I mean absolutely unbelievable.

Yeah, it's weird that you can't group the subaffiliate summary by the various SubIDs.

BUT, may I ask what tracker you are using?

Most of the time affiliates won't use the tracking system on Cake and use their own, as they don't want the network to see too much information.

You should consider using just the subID1 as the dynamic subID variable from a tracker, and then on your tracker you should be able to view whatever you need

I can see all my different sub ID's with clicks/conversions/EPC's under Reports>Sub affiliate summary. That is strange.

Weird... So you can see epc for sub id 2?

Im not using a tracker as I never do with organic traffic. However I do have cpvlab and voluum so why not?

Good idea I will set up tracking seperately.

Nice one

yes I set sub ids 1 and sub id 2 on all links.

I can see epc for sub id 1 but not for sub id 2.

Maybe your aff network has set up cake differently?

Maybe they do have it set up different. Here is what mine looked like from yesterday. See all the subs:

Thanks alot for posting that.

I am pretty sure these are all subid1. I use multiple subids on the same links eg: afflink.com?&c1=group&c2=website

So for this link then sub id 1 is "group". I can get the epc and clicks for this. However I can't get the epc and clicks for subid2 which is website.

Ahhhh. I see. Sorry I was of no help. The company I showed changed over to CAKE a few months back, and I also am not a fan of it. It has so many "issues" and glitches. Sigh....
