Am I being scammed on flippa?

Hey, I just sold my first domain on flippa for $250 (buy now).

The buyer already sent me the money and somehow flippa withdrew $25 from my paypal account.

This is the buyers first purchase on flippa (he is phone verified) but his paypal account is NOT verified.


I am not sure how I am supposed to deliver my domain to him, he asked me to "push" it to his e-mail.

What do you guys think? Should I do it or does it sound like a scam?

Pushing a domain means transferring the ownership to another account. Are you afraid he'll do a chargeback?
If so, I don't think there's anything you can do about it besides using escrow.

You sold a domain for $250 and flippa took $25 - sounds like 10% commission to me.

It helps to learn more about your market before you start selling; how were you planning to transfer the domain?

Thanks for the help guys. Yes I am worried about a chargeback. I asked namecheap and pushing the domain is quite easily.

From my experience, the best thing you can do is a whois and take a screenshot of the data (Yours) before you transfer the domain over to the buyer. That is if you don't have privacy protection.

Make sure the screen shot includes a date/time. If the buyer does in fact perform a charge back and has your domain, you have a better chance of winning (With the screenshot as your evidence). If you loose the case I'm sure you can dispute the domain transfer with your registrar.

I haven't used Paypal for a domain/website purchase for many years so I won't be much help on the Paypal security front. There's always a risk using something like Paypal, though.

Flippa itself is not safe at all. It is FULL of scammers. Probably one of the worst sites for scammers in the industry.

If it were me and the buyer had no feedback, get a simple bill of sale (Google it) signed by him before you transfer the domain. That way you have proof of purchase, his/her name and address and should be safe. If he refuses to sign, refund the cash and find a better buyer.
