Currently so many updates going on "Google" Web Spam Team. Recently guest post sites mostly penalized due to unnatural and spam related.

What's your though about guest post penalty? Is this right or not ?

Recently i saw article. They'll ask some question about guest post penalty related. Below mentioned 3 questions:

1. How much of my link profile is made out of guest blog links?
2. How many are No-Follow or Do-Follow?
3. How many use commercial anchor text?

What's your thought protect your site by taking action prior to a Future Guest Post Penalty ????

I don't accept guest posts, and I don't use guest posts as a backlink strategy. Never have, never will.

Great. Happy to hear this. Actually guest post not for backlink strategy. It's only brand awareness only but mostly peoples are using link building tool. Try to change.

Just a google propaganda and intimidating tactic. Quality content with your link will always count, anywhere.

Most Of peoples are looking for fast ranking in search engine, But it does not work for long time.. But i would say that get links with no follow and that only helps to improve branding, audience,Traffic etc..

This is a way to avoid Guest Post Penalty..

Guest posting isn't just a link building It's an usefull tactis to gain some credibility and trust
To achieve the target you have be very thoughtfull.

My thought is keep doing what you are doing, guest posts when done right (as any other thing) are very powerful and will always count as HQ/strong backlinks, no matter what Google updates roll out!

It is obvious isn't it? SEO is dead for the 15th year on a run.

Avoid to using as a "link building tool". Please think up "Brand". If you're thinking backlink strategy. Go somewhere else.

Guest posts can't be penalized. I don't believe it.

Let's take two posts on my blog. The first one is written by me, the second one is written by whoever emailed me to publish his guest post. Both have one link pointing to niche related site.
Tell me - How can Google possibly recognise the first post from the second one?

Maybe I wouldn't scale it so much (aka using spun content, sending it to every site, which accepts guest posts), but there is no way I cut off guest posts and never use them.

Your spot on with that. I would imagine its more aimed at the sites the target or advertise for guest posts etc links from those will pro just lose value.

My 2cent.

This "update" is the same as every other "update".

1- Its a warning/scare tactic

2- Like every other warning they issue the emphasis is on Spam/LOW Quality links, guest posts included

3- Sometimes white hat sites get hit in the crossfire but for the most part if you are getting quality links whether its from comments, Web 2.0's, Guest Posts, blogroll etc... it is a good tactic if its coming from a real site that has traffic. Poor quality articles on a site that looks like a link farm with no readership is pretty much just a blog network with a different name. Dont put your links on those sites if you are worried.

Here is a case in point- Here is an account I used to work for another company. Their strategy is high quality guest posts on relevant sites with real traffic, has been and as far as I know still is.
External According to majestic they have 2135 backlinks from 193 domains yet they rank for some pretty competitive keywords that are worth a few thousand dollars every time they make a sale. Notice that they keep GROWING in the number of keywords they are ranking for! (according to semrush) they rank in the top 20 for almost 900 keywords and the site is around 2 years old.

All this will do is punish those who publish rubbish guest posts on rubbish sites. Like spun articles. Rightly so. Create quality content for quality sites and it will still do great (authority, direct traffic and search rankings boost). End of.

Most Guest Posting service here are actually PBN, so if you are really doing Legitimate Guest Posting, i don't see any problem.

Well put. No doubt they will be analyzing the new disavowed links that have come in and will come in over the next few weeks and will manually pick out and penalize the sites being linked to from the obvious guest posts. This will cause people to believe that they actually have found a way to detect them and lead to more dummys running to the disavow tool to help them figure out the rest.

According to google, you should do your best to never have any backlinks to your site.

People just get crazy when they start losing their rankings and get disavowing everything, that is really disastrous. Don't trust everything you hear from google and start perplexing. The are known to run several updates at the same time, so its not really about
