Hi!
Since this is the BlackHat Lounge I would like to post my problem :
Well, I can't connect to internet using my windows 8.1, in the other side, windows 7 dosen't have this problem ( I have both Windows 8.1 and 7 installed on my laptop).
I tried to run the troubleshot connection problem but it didn't solve anything.

So if anyone here know the solution, please !
Thank you.

I have the solution, just use Windows 7. No need to thank me for my input, just glad I could help.
:)I want to solve the problem in windows 8.1, besides, I have my history, passwords registerd in firefox on windows 8.1.

I guessed that, I was joking. It is very hard to solve a problem like this unless one has the laptop in in front of them.

Could you be more specific? How do you connect to internet? Wifi? Lan? What type of connection do you have? Dial up? Through router? Direct rj45 connection? Post a screenshot of your IPV4 settings too.

Easy. You are using Windows 7 Ethernet/Wi-Fi drivers on Windows 8.1, that won't work. Boot your Windows 8.1 and install the respective drivers.

I have the right drivers, The internet connection was working on windows 8.1 just yesterday.

Hey there genius, did you even bother to read the thread ??

Why don't you export passwords and then import them to the Windows 7 Firefox ? This addon should help you do that, hXXps://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/password-exporter/

However, I'm not sure if you could do the same thing with your history.

Thanks, but I want the problem solved, what's the point of having a OS if it can't connect to internet.

Restart the router + modem , if this doesn't work try resetting router.

Make sure your driver is supported in Win 8. Looks like a software problem to me. There are similar issues : http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19528977.aspx

Make sure that your IP address configuration is correct. I personally prefer configuring a wireless access point rather than having to move the wire everywhere. Nothing much to setup too. Wireless routers come pretty cheap. You can get one for mere $15-20

I prefer wired connection, so I need to find a solution, and I have a Toshiba.
