Reddit Voting? How it works!?

Hy,

im learning here how to vote on reddit and have some problems, sometimes when I add a new story and then vote it up by other accounts, then I seam to block my story somehow? I mean, the votes wont show or etc...

I have also let my friend but up a story and then voted it, but it again wont read the vote. Sometimes the voting point score just turns into a blip?

What is this all about, and how to overcome it?

Reddit has changed its algo recently lots of good changes if you ask me. Reason being now you have more chances of hitting frontpage than before but of course there is a catch..

1. New accounts with 1 karma that has been voting stories without reading and keep voting up same domain again and again get a penalty..

So for example if they been voting up domainx . com agian and again then each time they vote for domainx that story will get 3 down votes automatically..

According to the algo a human being cannot read 500 words article in 1 second, most of us take time and given that the algo checks if the user has read the story or not.. that is why it is easier to spam images than articles.. as you can click and then go back and vote up your story..

But anyways new users with 1 karma that just keep voting up random stuff without reading, they are all under radar and get penalized for whatever they vote up without reading..

2. Smart gamers don;t game a site with million users with junk stories, first you have to build authority for your domain and you do that by submitting your story to the MAIN SUB category if your site is about cute animals you should not submit it to pics or funny, as you will get removed or banned from category you are better of going to animal section and submitting there..

3. The best way to play the game with new reddit is to build some karma and you can do that by spamming linux section and non profit category keep submitting good stories there and within a week you will have 1k karma..

In other words, when you create new accounts, submit some stories first, then head to vote your main story.

Don't vote using fresh accounts.

Sort of but even then there is a small catch. In recent change I have found out that you have more chances of hitting frontpage without asking people for votes or voting yourself. And this is possible by submitting your content to sub categories with 100-1000 members, where people dont care and vote up everything..

You will almost always get downvote if you vote your story too fast.

It has to stand out and I donno how Reddit checks that but I reckon its the number of CTRs..

Ok, but I have a reddit widget on my website, where people can vote it and then must log in? It still got penalized, but logically I should have read it through....

Well anyways, now I know and I have to figure a way out to get my user karma up and useful
