Google moving to link-less future

The link didn't work for me..??

but the only way I can see link based indexing dying, is if it was replaced totally by social media indicators. But to be honest, I can't see that happening.

backlinks as an indicator of popularity on the web is just too good a system for them to throw it in.
as long as people generally find what they want (and I think they do), and as long as Matt is making his friable effort to combat spam, I think it will continue that way.

The day Google abandons links and can determine "quality" without them means that they have created Artificial Intelligence capable of mimicking humans.

Google ALREADY uses "artificial intelligence" so the question should really be, "how intelligent is your average human being?" FFS we already have cars that can drive themselves better than your average person can.

I'm not trying to take Googles side, but as your natural enemy, they are an enemy you definitely don't want to underestimate.

I was referring to AI like in the Terminator movies lol

To be honest I think majority of the people on this forum gives Google too much credit.

There are so many paranoid fools running around this forum it's not even funny.

I just love how easily BHW members can smell a BS. This propaganda material will probably do it's purpose on "whitehat" seo blogs among matts sheeps.

I do about 1% of the "tier link" bullshit. 99% of my links are directly to my money site, they're "no-follow" shitty links but I still rank Page 1 of Google for multiple keywords with competition in the millions of results.

Don't believe everything Google tells you. They're much more exploitable than you think.

next apply for a job at McD and get out of the game.

a linkless future ? that sounds like a book title written by some WF guru. The 'linkless' future is here already my friend. Go on TOR and you will see what a 'linkless' future looks like :)

There could be some 'truth' behind this too but when Google will only start showing PPC ads it will transform itself into Altavista and die a painful death.

The only reason Google is so big is because of SEO's and spammers who moved business towards Google advertisement... Yes Google might think that they have enough business depending on them and remove links altogether and become a yellow page type thingy but ... how many people search the yellow pages these days ?

Couldn't have said it better myself! Your entire comment is very accurate.

Google is running itself into a corner.

I think yandex has already started dismissing links in ranking commercial terms in moscow .
