How come certain youtube accounts can post video clips from tv shows, movies, etc and not get it removed or a copyright strike from youtube? I can often find a clip from something funny that happened on a tv show or movie on youtube.. also what about compilation videos that show highlights from a series? For example I've seen so many fan videos that highlight videos from Breaking Bad. I realize that these are not monetized videos. I only post original content but I've always wondered how come that content was readily available by random users. Sorry for the noob question.

Such YouTube channels, e.g. Watchmojo have to obtain written permission from copyright owners before uploading the videos on YouTube
 
I've seen other joe schmo channels that just post random funny or interesting clips from tv shows. Some get the videos removed. Others they leave up.

Sometimes one may be lucky enough to get away with copyright infringement.
