Why Did You Get Started Online? ...

I just wanted to make money from home without having to travel to work every day

I've always considered myself to be a "be your own boss" type of person, IM allows me to focus on what I'm good at and manage my time accordingly. I love writing, so now I get to write whenever I want, however I want.

In my opinion, IM is a way of keeping your pride and joy and not working for "the man" ;).

I was doing all sorts of hacking when I was 15 and some of us realized we'd go to jail for cashing out stolen credit cards but we could pillage all the intangible resources we want, use them to fuel a very illegal spamming operation laundering the stollen assets through affiliate checks.

Now that was blackblackhat. I don't even do blackhat anymore, I'm an engineer.

it gives you lots of freedom, you can plan your time. But also requires lots of self-motivation which may be hard sometimes

I always wanted to do something different ! I started my career as a web designer ! I learned everything on my own ! Worked for few years to gain some experience and then i thought " WHY THE FUCK SHOULD I MAKE THESE GUYS RICH WITH MY SKILLS, WHEN I CAN DO IT MYSELF" !!! Web designing needs creativity but i wanted things that were "INTERESTING" and more "CHALLENGING" !! I needed a break !!

So, i left my job and started searching on internet randomly !!! Got tips to start a free lancer career ! And then my life changed !!! Then i came to know about IM and SEO !! And now i am here !!

Well it was the only thing that interested me. The daily 9-5 grind kinda seems boring, and the internet seems so much more interesting.

I like having nice things that a lame 9/5 wouldn't allow me to have.

i am just about to start and everything about internet marketing interests me :) gl everyone

There really is only one answer to this question isn't there. I doubt anyone is going to come along and say, "I like doing IM because I like making backlinks" Everyone does it for freedom and money.

However I do miss woking Monday to Friday and going out for a pint after work on the Friday. I do also get seriously bored, and miss having work mates.

Yeah I understand what you mean. Humans are social beings and we learned the monday-friday thing from school. Getting up at fixed times, taking a shower, putting on new clothes, brushing your teeth, drinking a coffee, heading to work for 8-9 hours and then head back home.

But you gotta admit that it's the best feeling ever to wake up and "be at work". ;D

Basically for self-gratification.
There are endless possibilities online.

I'm going to rule the world. Better start sucking up now, folks.

In all seriousness, I refused to become a part of the garden-variety workaday world. I have high ambitions, and going into business for myself is the way to get there. It's a fun ride!

Best,
Red

Because I have bills, ambition and a family I love and want to provide for.
