Hey, guys

There is no doubt that related posts/content plugin such as Nrelate related content plugin is good for visitors' experience and conversion. But on the other hand, does such a plugin harm SEO ? Many internal links are added intensively when the plugin is used, which is sure to add the total internal links on a page and may even cause the slower access to the page.

Evenmore, is Nrelate plugin using iframe to index the related content? If so, will this iframe trick lead to misjudgement of some affilate associations, like amazon which hates iframe skills on a site?

Thanks for your any reply.

Internal links are actually good, but let me ask you this, will the related post harm your keyword density?
Thats what you would want to know.
Overall, it is recommended to use them if you can maintain good balance of keyword density

As far as I kow nrelate doesn't use iframe, plus that it doesn't slow down your website too.

Keyword density is indeed one aspect to take into consideration. But too many internal links on a page many harm seo, I am afraid. If I use the plugin, there are 5-6 unavoidable internal links on a single page including at least 4 links created by this plugin.

It fucks with your KW density, and adds too many internal links with the same anchor ... However, I've tested, and the difference is noticeable on bounce rate -- so I've decided to keep it, and feature only 3 posts.

Thanks for your experience. Your test is valuable.

Why are people talking about keyword density in the WHITE HAT section?

OP:

Use related posts.

It increases user engagement
Decreases bounce rate
Creates a relevant internal linking structure

If you are too worried about the keyword density, which is the only SEO effect it could have, you can always use a plugin such as:
http://www.microkid.net/wordpress/related-posts/

Which lets you pick your own related posts
