A good CTR for Adsense?

I'm in the fashion niche and trying to figure how much is a good CTR for my ads. Right now I'm hitting about 1-1.5% but about to start split testing. I was wondering what is a good CTR for say a blog that gets about 1k people per day (mostly organic).

It can be low or ok. Depends on what kind of website is it and what templates you use.

Zai21 don't get me wrong, but your question is similar to "how many eggs are in the basket". You can't know what's the best or highest CTR within your niche or calculate it with your visitor rate.

If you search the forum you will see that most of the successful Adsense players have around 6% to 15% CTR, but it depends on the template, the keywords, and so on.

For an example, if you are targeting the keyword "how to grow pineapples" and are offering the user an article which explains in detail on how to grow a pineapple, then the visitor does not have the need to click on your adsense blocks, since he already got the answer from your article - which means that your CTR will be lower.

But if you are targeting the keyword "sell a car", and your article is NOT giving the user the full answer, then the user will click on the adsense block below and go to his desired answer - which means that you will get a higher CTR.

So, in your case, I would first make a proper keyword research within your niche to see which keywords would offer a higher CTR.

Well my site is more of a news/magazine that does updates on the fashion brands. But I understand what you mean though.

This guy is partially right. You don't want a very high CTR because you'll raise suspicion. Anything less than 10% is acceptable, and around 5% is great.

I would not agree with this.

You can get up to 15% with a good quality site, you will get a manual review and will continue earning from adsense without any problems. I have had several authority sites with around 12% and 15% and they just got a manual review (which is good) and after that continued earning.

But if you are doing something against the TOS, if you are having tons of crap backlinks, a custom template which is not per TOS and so on, then they will figure that out even if you have 1% CTR.

Just stick to the TOS, good templates, good backlinks and everything will be fine.

5-10% is what I aim for.

This is a good range to shoot for. Above 10%, Google might start to get suspicious. Below 5%, you're leaving money on the table.

Split test, optimize, get into your traffic's mind.

You can get up to 15% with a good quality site, you will get a manual review and will continue earning from adsense without any problems. I have had several authority sites with around 12% and 15% and they just got a manual review (which is good) and after that continued earning.

But doesn't ad placements affect SEO rankings? Or is that a myth?
