There's no health benefits to drinking alcohol but its still socially accepted.
Which do you think causes more deaths each year? Which is more addictive? Which causes more crime?
Well that is debatable as far as crime is concerned especially when you bring in the whole drugs trade itself, the place where the deaths and crime would come into the matter. As for being addictive, I have both personally been addicted to smoking pot and drinking and I would say they were both as hard to give up, just like any addiction really.
