Does seasons matter for CPC & clicks? CPC is going down since 2014.

Hi,

I've been into Adsense & YouTube since last august... From November every week when iam making new videos and slowly improving on my views per day & earnings.
November I got an Avg of 500 views per day.. & December just over 588 views per day. cpc being around .5+ & .7+ respectively.

Now am getting my best ever traffics with an Avg of 735 views per day & suddenly my cpc & clicks are going down, since January 1st.
It is down to as low as .3
Yesterday I got .3 cpc.. With over 750 views, with only 9 clicks.

Is this normal to drop this much after a holiday period?

yes adsense cpc changes with season. Normally there are more ads in holidays and less in normal days.

Some niches vary more than others, CPC varies all the time, even within a week. Fridays may be better than mondays and so on.

You can validate monthly search seasonality to some extent in the KW planner and to a greater degree of detail in Google trends (last 30/60/90 days) to see if there is fluctuation at weekly or monthly level.

Don't know of anywhere that cpc is archived though.

Logically, if volume is going up and there are finite budgets for the term (is it low/med comp?) then your cpc will decline as cheaper bidders are allowed impressions.

It's more to do with what businesses and companies are buying ads in your niche and how many.

So technically seasons could affect this yeah. Honestly adsense is not a reliable income source in my experience you should diversify your monetisation strategy.

Now my clicks are also on the downside.. really something is wrong
today i'm getting 450 views = 10 clicks- cpc .3

It's hight season before christmast and new year. Everyone is advertising so CPC i higher.
