Wow great Ideas, thanks everyone for good advice, I have one technology blog where I get around 400-500 organic unique views everyday, I am pretty much sure I can get loads of emails from there but sad is that it is in blogspot with custom domain, I bit scared if I migrate to wordpress then my blog will die

You need to be in total control of your domain/website. Free hosting, blogging, etc., isn't worth the possibility of losing all that you have worked for. With your own hosted blog/site you can put a pop-up/slide in subscription capture form which will dramatically increase sign ups. And always, something free like others have said. A free report that pertains to your blog/site visitors. If you don't know how to write it yourself, have it written for you. Many places to have that done.

Before letting anyone to download something useful, get their email address and ask them to verify it, to get access to the file. I meant download link.
