Let's Liven up the PPV section

how scalable is PPV traffic? is it possible for me if i want to purchase 10 million+ unique views per day, or do they not have enough inventory?

also, what's the most i could possibly spend on PPV traffic? i know some people spend $xxx per day consistently, but do you think it's reasonable to maintain a high level of traffic by consistently spending $xxxx per day, or would i have exhausted all my targets after a while? thanks!

Well honestly thats a question to bring up to the networks and ask how many pops they get aday. I could see multiple campaigns getting that kind of traffic but not just one campaign with a few targets. You could look into RON traffic from the networks. Its overflow traffic that u can buy pretty cheap.

Traffic vance is the largest PPV company and they boast 15 million users+, so could you get 10million unique veiws a day? Maybe if you can bid on every high targeted keyword but would they be relivant to your campaign, most likely not. If you sign up for the top most trafficked networks it could be possible to get 10 million uniques a day. I cant give you a forsure answer because only the networks would know that. Check Leadimpact, trafficvance and 50onred

I have worked with all the big ones like LI, TV MediaTraffic, 50 and ROI is decent but success is deeply hampered by the limited volume. Anyone have success with Clicksor?

Does anyone have any positive things to say about Clicksor? Yes, everyone knows their traffic is weak so keep your response positive. On the other hand, their volume is good and after tweaking a few variables I could see the light at the end of the tunnel but I am too busy to test all over again.

This is the best thread I've read on BHW so far, props to you brother for some very transparent information.

Question for you. Have you ever tried promoting Amazon products with PPV?

Sorry one more question please. The pop-up window is a smaller size, but if the user clicks something inside of the window, does the window blow up to full size or does it remain the same size?

If it stays the same size then I imagine you'd want to pick an LP with a single-action conversion? I would think that a full-page page coming up, unlike the LP optimized for those dimensions, and still being in a reduced window would annoy a lot of people and they would just close it.

Don't promote amazon with PPV. It is a no no in the terms of service. They will catch and ban you. Already have had it happen. Its not your links they find your traffic source from its the PPV user agent. You can't as far as I know change that. Lost about $7,000 from the ban.

Can't you blank or fake the referrer from a dummy amazon store?

Ofcourse you can. You just need the know-how or hire someone that can set it up for you.

And no, I am not that person.

All the best.

You think a blank referer isnt a problem? Its not the referer anyway, Its the user agent there is no way to drop or replace it. In a nut shell you will get banned. PPV leaks.

This would only be a problem when you direct link, right? If when they click on your PPV ad you send them to your own domain page, wouldn't it open the page in their normal browser and so send their normal user agent, e.g. firefox, when they then click through from there to the amazon site?

Although doing this I guess drops the conversion % as it is an extra hop. What is your experience with this?

Thanks!

PS Great thread by the way!

Hello,

Its me DerpDude.

I just recently started on Lead Impact and made a risky deposit of $1,000. I have a question, does PPV traffic convert for PPD offers?

Kind Regards,
DerpDude

Thanks brother you just saved me my account, I was just about to start a campaign with Amazon and try to make it work. If they're that strict about it, it's not worth it for me personally to risk my account.

The reason I asked is that I like to deal with sales-based offers rather than CPA type stuff, simply because I find it easier to find appropriate targets for my advertising. Have you had any significant level of success with any sales offer, like clickbank for example? I just put down my $1000 for Lead Impact but I keep hearing CPA is the way to go with LI. Just looking for confirmation that sales offers don't work from an experienced PPVer.

nope tried that. The user agent is still passed. Heres the issue though, say you do some how have a way to remove the user agent. You start driving tons of traffic and make lots of money. Your network will contact you and want to know how you are driving traffic to their offers. And your not going to have an answer for them. I tried to say I was running a PPC campaign and it did not work. I even set one up and ran it to show them. They will ask you to remove your tracker so they can see where your traffic is coming from. You cant, ppv traffic, from LI anyway comes from click.lipixeltrack.com and there is no way to remove that tracker to show them. You will get banned unless PPV is allowed as a traffic method.

Sales offers can work. They are harder to convert though. You need the user to see your ad when they have their credit card in hand. Try popping a couponor a sale over related domains. Lead forms and things of that nature convert better dont pay as much. One little secret is to target the checkout page of an offer and pop a coupon while the user is about to purchase something. Saving money on something their about to buy will always work.

Derp if they want what your offering to give them bad enough it will always work. Your going to have to make a page for your locker after the popup because LeadImpact will not approve campaigns that have user popups. Like when the persons visits the page for your download and your locker popups, they dont allow that. You could try it but it is against their TOS. One way to get around it would be PPV> your popup ad> page explaining the download> locked content page. If you get my drift.

hi guys, I just went through this thread, I'm really tired today but I wanted to read this to the end, will definitely do this again. Thanks for sharing your tools OP and thanks everyone for all the valuable info. I really want to try PPV either with Clickbank or with CPA. I have a lot of questions that I will maybe ask in the future if I wont get the answer after reading more threads like this but there is one thing I completely don't understand. I don't get the idea to copy the offer, change it a bit and create a landing page from it and then this landing page get the people to the offer after clicking some call to action button - I don't see any sense in showing the similar image twice - first, screen of offer we want to promote edited a little, and then again something that looks almost the same which is the right offer that we want to make money from. Maybe this question is stupid, but I really don't get this and would like someone to explain it to me please.

Thats only an example of a way to make a quick landing page. It also helps give the offer you are promoting a little credibility by having your popup and the landing page match. But in PPV testing is everything. If for example you were pushing a vista print offer and your only target was vistaprint.com your offer is going to match your LP in theory creating an easier conversion. Some niches it, some it dosnt. Honestly test a few different landing pages, one that matches, one that is completely different and a text style landing page. What ever has the bettern CTR is your winner.
