Free methods? I guess you can spread a few guest posts around. Pick a few related niches and write something for them.
Related can also mean, for a work from home blog:
* Food blog -> working from doesn't mean you can spend more time in the kitchen! Things to avoid.
* Small business blog -> 25 Important things you need to cover before you set up your home office
* Mommy blog -> Honey, Mommy isn't really home, she's working. Yeah.. Right.

Find strong ones, build good foundations. You need some trust as well.
