Where do I find paying clients?

I've dipped my toes in various amounts of IM pools, things like Blogging and trying to re-sell Twitter followers and such. None have garnished me as much success as freelance writing has, it's not only helped me build my portfolio of credits; but it's helped me pay my bills and make sure my cat is fed!

With all of this being said, how do I find clients that aren't afraid to pay for quality? I've been working very closely with a few clients that have no problem paying what I ask, and they even praise my work (which of course makes me feel like I've done something good for mankind). How do I find more of these clients? Most of them were off of Craigslist or even just repeat buyers on freelance sites. I'm not looking for a quick fix, I'm willing to do some demographic research and such if it's necessary. Tips and sites would be appreciated, and thanks in advanced!

Also, of course I'm going to be continuing my daily routine of checking CL and other sources on the web for clients, but what about offline marketing?

well, if u have some coin, i would buy linkedin ads.. you have more decision makers there than u would for facebook.

but again, it depends who u target.. if u have an established fanpage with content then it might make sense to promote your page.

Also people are mroe likely to pay for quality if you have a good reputation. Try offering cheaper quality and building rep, then you can hopefully charge more.

How about you start a thread about how you can provide excellent writing work on a popular forum where people buy articles?

Then you can bypass that forum's requirement to become a member ($97) and pay for a sales thread ($30) ... by simply asking "Where can I sell this service?", instead of saying "I have this service for sale".

Sure, this is unfair to all the other sellers who paid good money to advertise on BHW, but so what? Those other sellers will receive proper reviews in their sales threads so people can judge their quality -- you can bypass that too! How you do that ... you simply say that your past customers say you're awesome. Then you don't need reviews! See how easy that is?

Unofficial sales thread? I'm not offering any services? Also I'll look into LinkedIn ads, thanks Jin. And yeah you're right TehEpidemick, it's how I built my rep on freelance sites.

Check out local advertising agencies. Oftentimes they don't have in-house copywriter, so you can freelance for them

1. PPC ads.
2. Third party blogs.
3. Craigslist/other classifieds.
4. Online job boards.
5. Niche forums.
6. Social networking.

....

In fact, everything that brings traffic to your landing page and establishes you as an authority is going to bring in clients for you.
