Hi Moon, the whys like most things google does are a mystery, but there is some logic behind it...
People who produce good content and professional writers sign their content.
People who produce good content in their niche tend to get people following them.
Pretty sure google just added the two facts together and made it part of their ranking algo.
We have tested this and it really does help, also if you keep your authors in a niche, beauty , weight loss whatever
when you roll out more sites in similar niche, you get to reuse the same authors and we find it has sorta a form of portable
pr that goes with the author, so its very nice for launching new sites, they rank better and faster.
@robertstr How would google know what kw you are trying to rank if you don't provide google traffic in the campaign? And when you use a longtail for that, it doesn't tell them your original kw but rather the longtail, again how would that rank the original kw?
Your on page needs to be handling that, we just run social like we run any type of backlinks nowadays, we take link velocity into account and ramp up slow. I personally run two campaigns standard, before using the other modules, you dont have to do it like this exactly..I just always roll out new sites in a format that i stick too.
