Ok, so I'm very familiar with IM, but I'm fairly new at actually doing anything with it. Right now, I'm working on a blog, and my main goal is to build up a mailing list so I can send out ClickBank products, as well as monetize my site in other ways if possible. I am writing the content by myself (I've done freelance writing for 8 years), I've got an AWeber account set-up, but my main problem has always been getting traffic. I know that I can produce good content and make a decent WordPress blog, but I just can't ever figure out how to effectively drive traffic to the site. I'm willing to spend money, and I plan on buying $25 of AdWords so I get a $100 voucher and using it all towards this site. The niche I'm working with is Golf.

- Would using AdWords to link directly to my mailing list sign-up (within my website) be effective or even allowed?
- Are there any good alternatives besides AdWords?
- What are some other methods to drive traffic? (I know about backlinks and ad networks, but I can never get them to do me any good)

Thanks guys for any help!

You could easily get traffic through these ways:
1. creating a content-rich blog with articles posted regularly
2. creating a video and uploaded to youtube. The video should be a tutorial related to your niche, with a link inviting viewers to visit your site for more details

Hi,

Unique Article with perfectly inserted keywords regularly posting , user interaction area, connection with g+,FB,twitter and other social media can generate tons of traffic. It is tested.

There is a simpler way to direct traffic to your site... this is what i did.. after creating some cutting edge content, i contacted some twitter and fb pages that get shared a lot and asked them to promote my site.. it took me 20$ at that time to get some decent traffic to my site.

BTW, you really need to have some tempting content to sustain the traffic.. :happysad:

SSM is the best way to go....being a marketer, i don't even do any work for my blog, i just buy contents and links then spread some ads on proper fields. it really payback me..try it, i hope it'll work for you too.. :detective

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll definitely look into some of these options, I've considered contacting similar pages, but I figured they would be expensive. I'm still working on adding content, but I've heard you shouldn't post too much at one time, is there a rule of thumb for how often you should post a new article? Pretty much everything I'm posting is a guide of some sort, not necessarily any news content yet.

All you need is basic SEO and keyword research. Check your keywords for your niche and start a plan for on-site and
off-site SEO link building. That is how you get organic traffic that converts.
