..... 1) It depends on what sort of incentive you are doing! Paying people $10 to sign up is 1 thing, giving someone a website that they otherwise would be needing is another.

You can get in touch with the affiliate team and ask them for permission for what you are doing. .....

2) If customer wants more... ask them to cough up with money, explain that you can only do so much FOR FREE. You can also upsell them on logo, SEO etc. use your imagination here......

1) So I take it you didn't ask them then. How long have you been doing it this way if you don't mind sharing?

2) Makes sense ..... thanks!

Like I said ..... solid plan! :thumb:

How Will I Be Paid?

HostGator pays affiliate commissions either via check or PayPal. Commissions cannot be applied directly toward web hosting fees or any other products or services.

You can buy hosting using a CC/debit card.

It works for all countries. The business package I provide is in English and everything is described in English but you could def. build your own business using this info targeting none english countries.

Is there by any chance any review copy left :)
Cheers

suggest anyone looking at this do a little research first. seems hostgater are lucky to actually pay out on about 1 in 10 of your sales....and if your customer upgrades then hostgater cancel the account and open a new one effectively, meaning you lose your commission totally and make nothing..... check out the bad reports on these guys.....there are heaps of them.....
maybe op can post some figures here.....

I know how to buy hosting. I was asking about how will I get paid :)

Ok I'm about to purchase from HG. How will HG know that I was referred by you. I didn't find any link. Will "bhw10dollarsoff" be enough for them to know that I was referred by you or I just simply buy plan and email you my ID.

As far as I understood the method that IamNRE is selling works with any kind of webhosting that offers affiliate commisions, so if you don't trust HG just change the hosting company with another one that is more trusted or that pays more then HG.

Anyway to be sure wait for IamNRE to respond so you can be more clear

That's a barrier. It will stop those people that are not serious about making it work from being competitors. Those that are serious will find a way around that. One way is to use other hosting affiliate programs like HeRBaR said.

I have done this on and off since 2010 mate!

I asked them to confirm if its okay like 4 weeks ago (forgot to check their reply):

"hello,is it okay if I build sites for my clients or provide them with a very expensive theme if they buy hosting through hostgator via my affiliate link?My username is Blank Kind Regards John"

REPLY:

Hello,Thank you for contacting us with your concerns. Yes, you can do this, however the product must be given to the client before you are paid by HostGator for the commission. Along with that, if we receive any complaints, we do reserve the right to ask you to stop. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us back. Warm regards,Audra M.Affiliate AdministratorHostGator.com LLChttp://support.hostgator.com

Like I said, they don't care about incentive as long as you are not paying people to buy hosting in order to earn a comission - but giving someone a free website and that person then stays with them for xx months - then why would they have a problem with that?

Any ways... their service sucks nows... so I suggest you look into other hosting programs that pays $100+. I won't recommend any - do your own research. Cheers

Thanks for the update.

I didn't go with them anyways. Takes tooooooooo long to get paid.
