If i'm not mistaken a profile is simply a social network account profile. A bookmark is something like a +1 or Tweet or Like etc.

How can a +1 or a Like have a High PR??

Its not the +1 that has the high PR.

HIGH PR PROFILES = forums/social networking sites or any sites that allows you to build a profile and put your site's link
HIGH PR BOOKMARKS = sites that bookmarks your site or saves your site in their website for other people to see like stumble upon, reddit, digg and the likes.

Just some note to all this. As the name of the metrics PAGE RANK suggests, it refers to a rank of a single page. It means, every unique URL has a page rank. Now, when they say "high pr profiles", they mean to register an account on a site, which domain (home URL) has high PR. Although, when you sign up, you will get a unique URL to your profile (ie. <highpr_site>\your_profile) where you can place your link pointing to your site. Since it's going to be a brand new URL, it will have a page rank of -1. Therefore the expression HIGH PR PROFILE is misleading IMHO.

Yep.

Go over to youtube, search for any company and check their profile's PR. Ding ding ding!

But if I create a lot of backlinks to that page, theoretically the PR for that page should go up over time?

High PR profile means build backlinks on domain whose PR (Page Rank - +1) is high. Same with Social Bookmarking.

Yes, however it will still be just a page with barely any context (text about your niche), so relevancy factor will be very low. In case you are just after page rank, it will eventually increase in PR and therefore, it will give some PR juice to your money site. On the other hand, I'm not so sure about how much such links would help you in ranking.
If you are not planning to sell links, you don't need to focus on page rank, so creating some web2.0s with niche relevant content and build links for them might be a better option to spend your time on.
