Good luck making money from your statuses, inboxes, pokes or whatever it is people do on Facebook while I make hundreds of dollars weekly from my YouTube videos. confused newbie!
All the suppliers are still down..
+I still didn't figured out how to make my script work again.. Pretty frustrating.
So did any one of you found what the new change was??? I still can't figure it out. Any help will be highly appreciated.
Have you considered the possibility that it's not so much about WHAT the script code contains but rather WHERE it is embedded? I assume Google has a lot of traffic analytics data about various websites, so who's to say that they are not double-checking the traffic stats on a particular website/blog and comparing it to the supposed video plays/views from that page, to see whether the data actually matches up. In other words, YouTube could be doing extra verification or background checks on the pages where embedded views are coming from, in an attempt to prevent view inflation. So did any one of you found what the new change was??? and what if they have encoded the referrer somewhere in the requests in the form of a paramter and when we try to use a different referrer, the request is simply rejected by the YouTube servers??
The day they start doing that kind of validations you won't see any thread selling HR views.
I'm honestly not sure - although I have a feeling of what it could be. Problem is, this takes a bit of "luck" but a shitload more of time to test (because all you can do is test, it's hard to do confirm it otherwise) of which I have little. What I mean with my other post is that I could think a lot of ways for Youtube to avoid this happening in the future, and if they implement any of these, it will be totally over; but this isn't the case.
However, I'll confirm tomorrow if what I think it is, is.
Take my word, if there are others doing it on a great scale, it can't be hard, but as with anything, it will take tests and time.

This is a good point. For example if you are using a html SCRIPT tag to do the requests to the youtube servers then they can easily see that the referrer parameters in the requests do not match the http referrer seen by their server.
Ive not tried any sort of testing though Im determined not to spend Christmas staring at fiddler LOL...but its very tempting.
just wanted to say that even regular embed real views are not counting correctly. I have a high traffic website where I embed videos on once in a while. I have a tracker set up which tracks each embedded play. For the past week I tracked 8,800+ real viewers of which only 900 got counted by youtube. Before 12/14 youtube counted 95-99% of these embedded plays. This is pretty frustrating considering these are real viewers.
No that's not the reason.. I talked to few friends and they said it is about sending more requests along with the api/stats/playback and the watchtime... Now just sending these 2 is not going to work...
well, ive always sent more than that. from memory... /gen_204, /user_watch /ptracking /set_awesome /stream_204.
Let me know more details about it. How much does it cost in PM? And your reliability?I have found a working solution but it cost some money. I'd like to do a group buy among three. PM me for more details.
