How much content is enough?

I have about 2500 words on my site, how much more content do you think I need to make a authority site?

Is that broken into separate articles or only 1?

That's sort of an open question. It will depend how 'big' your niche is and whether you cover everything adequately - you can't really put a number on it. I guess the best way to view your site is to put yourself in the shoes of your customers and ask yourself, if I came to this site, does it offer a comprehensive overview? Does it 'feel' authoritative? For example, your niche could be 'how to make purple socks' (admittedly, not a very big niche, lol) and cover everything you need to know with just a few articles. A niche like weight loss would be a different story though. Hope that helps

I think authority site doesn't just simple depends on putting lots of content ! Infact you have to regularly update the contents are create quality backlinks to the site.

On my sites, 2500 words can be one post. And I do them 10/20/30 times a month.

For a single niche, 500-800 words are enough if you know how to optimize them, for multi niche sites, content should be relevant.

More content = more longtails.
More content = more trust by other beings who walk on two legs and like to eat, f*ck and sh*t.
More content = more linkbait.
More content = more resources you can point people who ask questions or forums, blogs, Q&A, social media and your nice neighbor.
More content = More internal linking.

All depends on the niche you are in and how competitive your keywords are. Really you
cannot have to much content and updating your site with new content is very important.

Regarding the contents, Quality matters the most and the quantity will not be considered for any purpose. Quality backlinks are created by unique articles which includes contents relevant to their specified niche.

How much pages you have in your website, how much words are there is each pages? You should have at least 400 words in single page.

And to make authority site:

1. Update your website with unique content on regular basis
2. Be specific with your topic and niche
3. Write a kind of content that other high authority sites would like to link you
