Pumper Sites

Hey Guys,

I'm very new to SEO but I am finding everything really interseting & learning fast!

Someone I was talking to was explaining how he has his main money site and has several "web 2.0 pumper" sites to "point" at his main site.

Can anyone explain to a newbie what he meant by this?

Simply build bunch of web 2.0 properties, blogs and micro blogs and point them to your main site. Fill those properties with a lot of content, preferably unique and high quality articles, photos, videos etc and occasionally put a link to your site. After that you can send links to those properties and link juice will flow (mostly) to your main site, without direct danger to get it burned by google.

What do you mean by building web 2.0 properties? I thought web2.0 was user-generated content sites such as facebook & twitter. Should I be building a social network site?

Yeah he means like wordpress, blogger or similar web 2.0 you would create yourself. If you put in educational links to an authority site, google will not think you are just spamming links to spammy sites. The sprinkle your link in some posts to your money site.

Ah okay I see.
With these web 2.0 sites, lets say I use wordpress. Would I want to keep the domain as: xyz.wordpress.com or would I want to actually buy and use xyz.com (Same with blogger)

There's two parts to the above question. However, I was only able to reply to second part coz somehow I was block for answering the first part about anyway here's the 2part answer.

2. I assume you would want to promote something hence you would want a website, not a web 2.0 site. as they are only to boost your main website. You could start out with a domain from Godaddy from 2.95 for the first purchase but if you want to make your details private then use namecheap.

1. It a pumper site, the purpose is to give juice to your main site xyz. So you would want to choice a domain name that's closest to your main name or keyword you want.

Hey OP - pumper sites are any type of webpage you use to launder link juice with. They are also known as buffer sites.

The idea is very simple. Build a few sites that you can pass for manual inspection and use them as your pumper sites. You don't need a lot of them - this is the beauty of it.

The real power is in how much link juice you are ultimately filtering.

So you might have only 5 pumper sites, this could be web 2.0's for example, like weebly, blogger, tumblr etc. But you might be running thousands of links to them through several tiers.

The benefits of doing this is that it is:

1. Safe - passes under Google's radar - avoid penalties.

2. Powerful - as you are running copious amount of link juice to your money site - this translates to marked improvement s in rankings.

3. Adds additional traffic - You also get real visitors from your pumper sites as you they will be ranking as well.

4. A magnet for spiders - Because you have lots of links funneled to your money site, the search engine spiders will frequent your site as well.

It the safest way to rank moving forward in 2014.

Safer than blog networks that anyone is selling - Google will eventually sniff them out, no matter how much anyone tells you that their network is special and safe. It just takes a Google spy to access a reasonable amount of links of any network to cripple that network.

Unless of course it's your own private network which is a different story.
