Hello BHW,

I am thinking about publishing a digital magazine on the apple's newsstand but I will probably need about $2k-$3k to do it right. Money is not an issue but before spending that kind of cash I would like to see what BHW thinks about digital magazines.

Anyone here published one?

I never in my life bought an online course but this one really does look interesting. It's pretty expensive though.

So, what's BHW's opinion on digital magazines?

Let's start a discussion on the subject...

Why is this a good idea with the overall publishing industry in fail mode? Really, hasn't blogging grabbed most of the eyeballs in the Internet?

I would be very interested to hear what makes you believe that the publishing industry is in fail mode. I believe that exactly the opposite is happening. The self-publishing industry is stronger than ever now.

Hi,
Why don't you think built inexpensive Magazine site?
Hello,

I seriously have no idea what you are talking about but thanks for the response :)

OP, I posted some resources in another thread, they might be useful to you:

Thanks a lot man, I will check it out! Have you started your own magazine? Do you think it's a good idea or not?

Self-publishing being easy doesn't make it profitable. Incase that's what you meant about self publishing's strength.
Everyone thinks they're a journalist & everyone thinks they're a pop star; I don't need to point out what happened to both of those industries.

However if you feel strongly about launching this, you'll be the one to tell US if it succeeds or not. Praying for your success, just don't target people who want freebies. Target the readers out there who still willingly pay for quality material.

I never said that self-publishing is easy. It's not easy at all. It requires a lot of work. However, I believe that it's a stable business. I am not looking for quick cash here with an easy BH method, I am looking for a long term serious business that will put money in my pocket for years. I already make good money publishing kindle books but I believe that magazines have more potential.

Good advice on targeting people that are willing to pay BTW. I will keep that in mind.

Thanks.
