I feel sorry for you but calling me kid doesn't work considering I did my Masters with a specialisation in queueing theory applied to OSI more than 10 years ago.

As for security professionals then they'd agree with me. Ken Thompson's paper was written 30 years ago but in any case the deference to authority doesn't mean anything here because the examples are revealed over and over and which you fail to address.

Examples:
-Compromised compilers which are trivial to code as shown in Ken Thompsons' paper and I would guess even more so in embedded systems as relatively few people work on these.
-The recent D-Link backdoor which has existed for years and it was actually coded and left in (probably as an oversight but still)
-The Huawei contract which the British government recently modified so that only people vetted by British intelligence will work on the equipment being supplied - they wouldn't do this if it wasn't possible to compromise equipment.
-Stuxnet which shows capability of programmers working for intelligence agencies in the absence of co-operation from equipment owners and designers.

You go back pretending to known something about something because you know zip about compromising systems with backdoors. That much I can assure you.

Dudes, no need to fight, the only logical explanation is there's secret things that track your mac address that nobody can give specific examples of, but never fear you can defeat the secret things with a freeware utility written in visual basic. MAC address is not universal like IP address, you should use icognito made in chrome and must use MAC address changer.

To sum things up, simply make sure to change it (if you need to), either with a $30 cost software or otherwise, as it seems the safest move than just assuming it's impossible for 3rd parties to fetch it

If I'm involved in an important project making good money then I look at spending money on programs to hide my tracks as buying insurance for that project. Sure, I probably don't need to do it but if nothing else it buys me piece of mind if something does go bad I can sleep easier knowing that it wasn't because I didn't protect/hide myself well enough.

I have no clue what various websites are tracking on my comp, so why wouldn't I spend $30 and buy the insurance (and assurance) that my bases are covered.

This is the worst logic. You think buying a piece of software makes you safe? Dude, learn. Knowledge is power. "I have no clue what various websites are tracking on my comp", really? No clue? You need to take a Computers 101 class, or maybe even just "how the internet works" and educate yourself before doing ANYTHING ELSE.

I get the feeling my hat isn't tall enough or black enough for this thread but I do really need to know how to keep my IP address cahnging so that I can get enough email into my own list's in-boxes to stay in business.

I know my little email blacklisted IP problem is not even close to as sexy or interesting (God knows it bores the shit out of me) but seriously, in all this deep anonymizing talk, do you guys have a method for this Mac air usier on a cable company router, authsmtp account, and a measley 25k a month of email to deliver?

It isn't neccessary.
This thread is an epic argument and both are right on their parts.
However, if stugz scenarios take place (compromised router with third party having full access), your NIC's MAC is the last thing to worry about.

hi u can use hma or openvpn , through with those programs u can change vpn and ip. But mac bit dangerous. And web or tracking systems cant see your mac.

Just because there is no code you know of or that any of us can read doesnt mean there isnt. How many of us can read JS properly?

ITs widely know that you can do this through Explorer with ActiveX. I have seen it in all other browsers too. I dont know how but they are. Ive literally changed pc to one exactly the same and my blackhat thing worked for awhile untill they got the mac from that one too. no it wasnt IP or cookie or what my resolution is.
