Purchasing Domains For Link Building Worth It?

Hi guys, I hope somebody can help me out here.

I have an idea of which I'd like to buy domains just for backlinking to my Mini Niche Sites. This is my theory:
Though my domain age, page age and PR are N/A, the mere fact that the backlink isn't available publicly to
everyone to obtain a backlink e.g. article directories, web 2.0 blogs and such, that Google will value this backlink
way more. So my intention is to purchase new domains with domain names that aren't even a word e.g. Squidoo,
install WordPress and write niche related articles that link back to my sites. As I would be linking them to multiple
sites in different niches, it seems to be worth paying for if it holds more weight in terms of link juice as compared
to web 2.0 blogs.

Hence achieving a backlink with the same method as doing so on web 2.0 blogs, but instead on a private domain.

Is my idea valid/worth doing ?

Any contribution and thoughts on the matter is greatly appreciated !!!

Im def no expert in SEO, as a matter of fact I am just now getting into it myself but if I had to say so, I wouldnt think buying those domains would do much good for you. Most sites for web 2.0's, it seems like google highly regards. Especially blogger, considering they own it. But I could be wrong in my thinking, hopefully someone with more experience can chime in.

this has been talked about before... you will need to get your sites on different ip/subnets to really have it work correctly i believe

You need zero footprints for this to work. No traces of your home/office IP, all different hosting, all fake id's on whois data, etc. It's expensive and time consuming to run a proper network.

As stated, for something like this to work you need to be a cyber ghost and leave 0 tracks as you proceed. The effort and money that would go into this just isn't worth it for the sake of a backlink. Follow the conventional Web 2.0 route but be creative, you'll get the same results for a lot less time and less money. Good luck man!

If you would take my opinion - you have to spend lot of money to rum this whole network in perfect way. No doubt your idea is clear and good but its really hard to manage in correct way.

Yes, it works just fine. All you need to do is get a domain, put it on $1 hosting then get a few PR links to it to build up some metrics. Then repeat the same process for the next network domain. Just use cheap $1 hosting for each domain. Don't have all your domains on the same hosting. You can go to web hosting talk (<-- search it) and find plenty of cheap $1 host. When you link to your money site do not use exact keyword anchor text and use a different anchor text for each site you put a link on. Example: if your keyword is "small bird house feeders" then your first network site anchor text could be "topics about small bird house feeders" then your second network site anchor text could be "small bird house feeders for kids" something to that effect. Just different cheap hosting, different anchor text on each site and different content on each network site. Plus do some sort of back linking to the network sites to get them alive. It really does not have to be as hard as people say or as expensive. Sure, you can get expensive with it, but for small network that will work great and rank you, there is no need to make it complicated. Good luck.

If you're building out a network to pump 1 site the ROI is usually not there to do so. Just a thought.

using your own domains as tier one links to your money sites works wonders, but as said above you must avoid footprints and host with different IPs/companies, use a mix of private whois registration and different names when registering, etc. Building a private blog network can be a huge asset to you, and as you build multiple money sites, it's nice to be able to quickly throw power from your network to the site quickly and easily.

The great thing about those domains that don't have words in them is that you can mold them into whatever niche you want it to fit. You can also make them brandable which could sell for a nice bit of coin if you build it right.

poeple here knows what they are talking about but always basing them self on their own experiences which is understandable
my advice to you is to try for yourself, maybe a small network to start? maybe 3 high PR domains on different hosting along with 3 web 2.0?

you get the idea you dont need ton of cash to test if it dos work or not?
huge part of SEO is testing i recommned you spend your time doing it
you will get better at it
