Hello im interested to know what is the best way if someone who is good at negative seo (they destroyed my last site) to prevent it from happening, well i mean if it happens what can i do to keep my positions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

the first step you must take is to blow matt cutts....

the 2nd is keep a track of your links and disavow bad links in google web master tools

Did you receive any manual action messages in WMT?

Remove links if you want to see any effect. I cannot emphasize this enough.

Just disavowing links will keep your site in the shitter unfortunately.

The disavow tool if it was as effective as everyone thinks it is would be a spammers paradise allowing for rampant abuse by being able to tailor your links to exactly how you want. That's not how Google intended the tool to be used and is the same reason it's so ineffective.

Keep a close on your backlink profile. Check it periodically.

Make sure you audit it on a regular basis. If you need to remove the links, contact the webmasters and ask them to remove the links from their sites. Do this at least 3 times. Note everything down as this will come in handy later if you need to send in a reconsideration request.

If you have a letter from Google for "unnatural links warning" then you definitely have to go the reconsideration request route.

When auditing your backlink profile, you can go straight to the disavow tool if you have n't received a warning from Google.

Make sure you do this on a regular basis - like taking out the trash.

How do you disavow links in Google webmaster tools?

If you don't know how to "Disavow Links" there's some good services offering this in the BST pretty cheaply.

If you're willing to spend some money (which I'd advise)

Check out the link removal services in the marketplace of the forum.

I would agree with what most webmasters here have mentioned. Keeping a close track of your backlink profiles and culling off the bad ones with the help of disavow tool.
I would also make sure that the links generated are quality.
Cheers

Using webmaster tools. Big mistake! Very Dumb!

disavowing the links, worse advice ever?

Immunity to Negative SEO? Answer: Authority

Man there has to be someone with some knowledge of SEO on here.

Google tracks every move with webmaster tools. Disavowing the links, domain is no good. Throw in the trash can. Start over.

The problem with negative seo is 1. you have no control over where the links were placed 2. They are usually a tonne of them imagine trying to sort through 10k neg blog comments :( the thought of it just makes me cringe.
