"Revenge is not always better, but neither is forgiveness; learn to know them both, son, so that there is no problem". Quoted from an Epic
Dear Members How do you see both Revenge and Forgiveness in relation to each other

I seek revenge. Damn you Lan Di!!

If someone spills tea on your lap deliberately and the temperature was below 70 Celsius, then forgiveness is the way forward. However 70 Celsius and up calls for tea to be thrown over them.. you start to enter the realm of an eye for an eye stuff.

[REVENGE]
Ancient saying: "Before you embark on your journey of revenge, be sure you dig TWO graves."

[FORGIVENESS]
"The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." - Mahatma Gandhi

Neither of them are good and both are bad.
If you'll try forgiveness, then you will be eaten from withing by thoughts on how the one who deserves worse got away.
If you'll try revenge, then you end up by being eaten by your conscience (What have i done?).

The "ultimate revenge" is taking away something that what a person cares about the most (or in the scale of what was taken from you) without hurting anyone.

And remember:
"The pen is mightier than the sword"

By the time you worry about forgiveness vs. revenge, it's already too late.
They've already upset you.

Learn how to be happy by yourself.
Nobody will make you happy.

Cant put it better than that.
are you really going to waste ANY of your precious time on steering someone else life, when you could spend it steering your own?

All I know is forgiving is extremely hard (at lest for me). If someone can truly forgive from his/her heart, I have the ultimate respect for him/her.

Sometimes the feeling for revenge and forgiveness are both very strong at the same time,It tears you inside

You want to get the ultimate revenge? Forgive them. Let them no longer be in your heart, because you have let go of all the negative emotions attached to them and have moved on. That is the ultimate revenge.

This is wrong, what you do is say to them.

I will get you back, in spades. One day, a year from now, a decade from now, or 4 decades from now, when you think everything is perfect, I will get you back. You can look over your shoulder from now til the day you die, and you will still not see it coming. Every time your dog goes missing, or you can't find your car, or you cant contact your family, it might be me. You will pay dearly for this, and I will extract my revenge before your life is over. When you least expect it, expect it"

Then forget they exist.

Where would one put karmic revenge within this duality?

Karma is not revenge it's just the understanding that everyone is on a journey, and people who do you wrong will learn the error of their ways in whatever way is appropriate to them. But it's not always your place to be a part of that or even to understand it.

Come on guys. This is an IM forum. Revenge is counter productive. Simple.

I usually forgive and take revenge. Who says you can't do both?
